Tanner Glass just showed why building a roster isn't as simple as assembling the most talented guys possible without taking into account whether a guy will do that for his team or not.

Indeed. He also showed why Corsi and other advanced stats shouldn't the end all be all of player assessment.

Not many players in the league would willingly block 1 Weber bomb in a shift. Never mind 3.

I'm not a huge Glass fan, but I appreciated that. Bullet after bullet. Takes a big pair to do that.

No one is saying you dont need guys like Glass on your team, but you don't need him at 1.5 mil. That is my biggest issue with Glass, the effort has been there this year. He is miles better than he was last year. Despres playing int he game...last audition or does that mean he won't be traded?

Nice Avatar...

That's one of the reasons I appreciate Adams so much. Guy is fearless blocking shots. Glass has had a much better year.

Errey was saying the Weber has broken 3 or his own teammates legs over the years. Ouch.

1.1 is fine for Glass the way hes been this year. He just wasnt this player last year.

Despres playing is Byslma playing his best lineup. I dont think it necessarily means either

I'm shocked if the Kings are actually moving Williams. Swapping out Williams in an effort to land Vanek is totally getting away from what makes them great. Panic move imo and all the better to whatever team reaps the benefits.

I agree with you. Also, Vanek is a pending ufa and most people have him as a lock to sign with Minnesota in the offseason. I think anyone who trades for Vanek is wasting assets. Then again, if it brings someone a Cup, it might be worth it.

Williams would be perfect here. With his cap hit; not a rental and his game in general, he is a safer and more economic and more consistent name to have on Sid's wing than most I've heard here.

Kings have trouble scoring. This is the same thing they had when they won the Cup. Couldn't score until the play-offs and then boom. IMO, they could use a blueliner more.

i would love justin williams. would be a solid add for all of these reasons. improves scoring, but still a responsile player who isnt a frail little thing.

Some thoughts on the game ...

It wasn't pretty, but I will take the two points. It's always a test of wills when you play Nashville with Rinne in net.

Matt Niskanen is showing why he should be kept. Nine goals on the year, six game winners. It will sting to lose him. He is our smartest two way defenseman and that includes when Letang is in the mix.

Tanner Glass played very very well. Five blocks and three of those were blasts from Webber. I'm sure that didn't feel too well. Can't question his play that much this year. He isn't skilled, but makes up for it in other ways.

Good to see Kunitz back in the boxscore with a goal. It seems like it has been a while since we saw him pot one for the Pens. While that line got points tonight, I really think a winger for Sid is the priority.

Roman Jossi for Nashville might be the most improved player, or one of them in the NHL. He didn't do as much for me last year. He looks like a stud now. Maybe I'm off my rocker, but that pairing of Jossi and Webber looks to be as good as Webber and Suter.

First time I've really watched Gaustad in the face-off circle. He is impressive. That might have been the best game I've seen him play.

On to the west coast. This won't be easy in the least.

Well we needed 2 pts going into back to back vs SJ and ANA. I hope Shero can fix the bottom 6, would not be afraid to trade Orps either. And get Nisky resigned, he's been great. I would hate losing these guys for nothing in UFA.

Glass has been fine all year, they've just been playing him in an elevated role which he doesn't do well in. Glass is a good 4th line guy and as seen tonight, he isn't afraid to block a shot or two.
