Remember, every GM in the NHL knows we are trying to move Despres in any deal we make, and dont have him in our plans going forward. I think Despres has less value around the league than most around here think. Maybe CBJ kicks in a conditional 3rd with conditions being something like making ECF and/or Gaborik re-signing in Pitt during offseason.

Pittsburgh has done nothing to salvage Despres' value. That, I agree. His value isn't high. Again, I agree. That is all on the Pens brass as to why his value has plummeted.

Columbus would have to add though to that. There is something about Gaborik that doesn't sound right and that doesn't take into account his fragile history.

Ill go back to Penner. If Penner alone fetches a 4th, then Gaborik + cond 3rd should be able to fetch Despres who has played a whopping 51 games in the NHL.

So, can we move Gillis to being the biggest buffoon of a GM in the league now? I'm very curious what the Panthers gave up with that horrid contract still there. However, the Panthers may need that contract for them to reach the cap floor. I'm wondering if Markstrom is heading to Vancouver.

So, Gillis gives away Vancouver's best goalie in the offseason, Schneider, for a first round pick instead of giving Luongo to Toronto for a mid drat pick and a tier B or C prospect - a deal in which Vancouver could have gone shopping with the savings for a forward or two to help with their lack of scoring?

I wonder if Luongo's comments to reporters about Kesler asking for a trade hit a nerve with Gillis. It was obvious Luongo didn't want to be in Vancouver anymore.
