It makes sense to pair MacDonald with Streit, but the fact the Flyers have so much redundancy on the blue line it might not be possible. Schenn/Grossmann is a disaster. 2 mastodons that have zero mobility. I hope the Flyers trade a dman tomorrow so Gustafsson can get a chance at being a regular, giving the Flyers more balance on the back end.

I think they may move Grossmann. He seems the most logical.

absolutely regarding getting those players for these picks. As mentioned, was thinking you use those picks in addition to other assets to acquire those players.
- wilsonecho91

Not having the two picks that they gave up for McDonald, isn't going to stop the Flyers from trying to acquire what they feel they need to.

Well Meszaros would be logical as well. It's going to be interesting. I wouldn't be opposed to them moving L. Schenn either.

If you move one of Meszy/Grossmann; you still acquired MacDonald. There's still an odd-man out. Is Gus still sitting, or is Gross/Meszy sitting?

But it'll definitely make it harder.

Good question. I guess we have to wait until tomorrow to find out the answers.

I think MacDonald sits tomorrow anyway...coming from Winnipeg and starting with a new team.

The lineup tomorrow will be those 7 guys minus the guy who gets traded. After that, I'm interested to hear.

I don't think it will. And I think that other moves could be made tomorrow, that can add draft picks to the fold.

Possible. if MacDonald doesn't play tomorrow, they must have a few things in the hopper. It has to be the only reason they recalled Gervais. Gill is already sitting around collecting dust.

Other moves can be made to get picks back. The Flyers got a solid defenseman for a cheap price. McDonald is a proven NHL player who can be part of the future. Any player chosen with the draft picks used to acquire McDonald, are not a guarantee of ever playing for the Flyers.

Schenn needs to learn to face his opponents while making direct eye contact at all times instead of putting himself in danger.

Usually in agreement, but this trade was not cheap. Trading two high-picks for a rental is not cheap. If he signs an extension, then I'll call it fair value. But it's not fair to call this move cheap.
