I really hope Nonis sticks to what he says about not overpaying for rentals...we're not a player or two away. Try to fix the defence over the summer via trades and don't overpay in free agency (almost never works out, save for the CuJo signing years ago). Hopefully, we make the playoffs and squeak into the second round. Build on that for next year.

Making the playoffs is going to be very difficult for this team.

They are possibly the most incompetent defensive team in the league. The goaltending has been average for 3 months and Kessel can't save them forever.

Not tough at all to imagine them 0-5-3 after the olympic break and end up being 4 points out the playoffs.

I just cannot believe that ALL the players are ALL stupid and clueless.

This is a coaching problem. The Leafs have the talent to be more competitive and consistent. They are the only team that plays like they do, and it just is not working.

If Kessel is not playing like the 2nd best player in the league, they don't have much chance.

I said that a while back, but I am not 100% sure if the players are clueless or not to be honest with you. I can't believe how bad Gunnar, Franson and Gardiner are at playing D. I also cannot believe how non-eventful our forecheck is, and I can't believe how hard it is to clear the zone. Honestly, for me, it's 50-50 between coaching and clueless players

We slam him a lot, but Bozie was one of the few guys actually moving his (frank)ing feet out there all game. Otherwise it was just brutal...

Yeah, I agree. Also, no coach in their right mind would employ a system that leads to SO MANY odd man rushes. It's literally 5 a game, without fail.
