Nobody cares about Lupul's deal, even though it's worse. People are still willing to give Clarkson a pass. Overpaying top talent isn't the same as overpaying mediocrity (and there are probably at least 6-8 guys on this roster for whom that applies).

Kadri odd you can see the skill but he just doesn't seem to produce.

So we played about 10 good minutes tonight. I really hate seeing an effort like this, when you see Riemer playing his @$$ off! At least it made him look good, if someone's looking for a goaltender. I hope he does get traded, because he deserves to play somewhere. Carlyle has mishandled him and it ticks me off.

Totally disagree. If you think that you're getting a 25 minute per night, top defender (who plays insane SH time, as well) for 5.5 mil, you're crazy.

The only comparable is J-Bo, but until this year, he was a total plug. People would have thought it absurd to give him anything near 5+ a couple years ago.

Girardi sets a pretty good market value (though, he might have gotten more as a UFA). He gets 5.5 mil going forward. Phaneuf is a better defender.
