I don't think anyone is enjoying it
- Fakepartofme

There's quite a few that will be. In fact, I think some have already posted on this thread.

Last year, this team had a completely different attitude and style.

That's not a one off thing. That's a deliberate change. There's a difference between the results being a "fluke" (or whatever bull crap people are calling it) and the attitude being a fluke.

Last year, at least we seemed to win AND lose with some dignity and fight. This year, when we lose, we fold.

- Leeman4Gilmour

Obviously komarov isnt going to fix much, but i would really like him back.

Gleason said that last year the Bruins and leafs were the hardest team to play against. I think Komarov was at least a small part of that.

True. But I thought we were paying Clarkson for his toughness and intangibles. (Certainly arent paying him to score).

I dont like to constantly rip on Phaneuf like some here, but even I have to admit that this is the type of scenario that you look to your captain.

- Leafs43

Clarkson never was a great fighter... he's tough to a point, but I don't think people really knew enough about him to jump the bandwagon. All I know is this, In one year as GM No-ness has taken a team from huge cap space and a window opening to - after the reality of the cap situation next summer kicks in - going back to where they were 3 years ago. Thank goodness for all the great trades Burke made because without the top line he assembled this club would be in dire straights going into next season, a season that should have been the most promising in a long time... I hope they come out of it and prove me wrong.

+21 and far away leading the team in ice time. Best penalty killer on defense by far. Easily the only guy capable of playing this role.

You can hate it if you want, but where do you honestly see this team without him? Competing for the division?

Come on.

- Leeman4Gilmour

Phaneuf makes everyone worse that's why his stat look better compared to him

Meh it was a short season after a long layoff, it was one off. Now they realize they have to do that over 82 games and they can't.
Welcome to another 5 years if this

- Fakepartofme

"They can't"? What are you talking about?

We're fifth in the conference in points. 12th in the league. This is barely a step down from where we were last year.

I was told this will be a steal in 3 years. Are you daring to say otherwise?
- weirdoh

So which of the goals was Dion's fault tonight. The first, where Reimer just stayed still, not even attempting to move, or the second, which Reimer (frank)ed up while handling the puck (there's a rarity). Which one? Or was is when Kessel hammered a pass back to him while everyone else was behind their goal? Dion is the absolute least of our D concerns. He's more of a D than Gardiner, Ranger, Franson, Gleason and Gunnar will ever be. (frank) man, Rielly is our 2nd best D at 20 years old. Get off the Phanuef hate bandwagon. He's +21 on a really really really poop defensive team. We have no D, only one line that gives a (frank), and no real toughness.

I don't think you can worry about it at the time, you have to just lay off overpayments and wait. Great teams just simply don't overpay, they fix the problem later with all the cap savings...

You like seeing players fly by him with no effort getting back, that is the the captain of the team that let a player easily beat him for the puck and a breakaway, it is disgusting. No heart and lazy.

If you had said this the answer would have been yes.

Yes, you've made this observation before, and I've explained it before.

I'm not even knocking you for being obtuse. I'm knocking you for making a hackneyed joke. You're more creative than that.

If he was in the negative they would use it against him, we all knows this.

Only really relevant when comparing players to teammates really, and even then you have to take into account who they play against. With Phaneuf he plays against the top lines so it's pretty damn relevant. He's clearly better than any other Leaf dman.

If he was on another team all we would see would be trades on how to get him on the leafs because he would be the guy we need.

No it would be much better to let him walk and replace him with nothing your right that makes way more sense.

Grass is always greener eh? Kessel has done well stay clear of the criticism. (frank) me, if he doesn't score in the next 5 games, he's going to hear about it.

So what are you complaining about?

They been outshot every game
Goaltending has saved them
Including ot loses, they only two games above .500
They depend so much in the first line
Their has been absolutely horrible
They have been getting pushed around like crazy
No team us scared if them

A little different than last season

Doesn't hurt.

Leafs top line isn't +21 or w/e Phaneuf is though.
