I think I saw somewhere in that swamp of letters that there's an OEL to the Leafs trade rumour!? Tell me more (preferrably in paragraphs).
- 1979AD

No. I never said there were OEL to Toronto trade rumors but I am saying that the Leafs have scouts at the Coyotes games and there's rumors about a trade between the two teams so I am just thinking who it could be.

He means what I posted yesterday but I wrote OLE instead of OEL. It wasNt a rumour just asking what people thought about the idea.

I'd like to see Yandle in a Leafs jersey, if it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

I don't think it would be as much as people think but we would have to send some offence back. OEL would cost a good chunk probably Kadri. They need offence so that might work.

How about Kulemin and Connor Brown, plus a pick?

Ohhh OK. The cost for OEL would be astronomical. I think they would move Yandle and his age and contract long before Ekman-Larsson. Do the Leafs really need another defensively challenged puck moving D?

I'd imagine you could wrestle Wideman or Giordano out of Calgary, especially with the Nonis Burke connection. Yandle brings veteran leadership and an added threat on our 1st PP.

What does Wideman and Giordano have to do with Yandle? Yandle has brings veteran leadership from what - having an A on his jersey during 2 playoff series victories... I guess so. But scoring is not this team's problem, if they're going to move young assets for a veteran D, I'd much prefer Giordano, or anyone with a strong defensive game.

If the Leafs had to trade value for Yandle, I just don't see the reason why. Soft offensive dman who has defensive issues - does that not sound familiar?!

Leafs dropped 5 spots and are 20th in the TSN latest power rankings. Montreal a whopping 3 points ahead of the Leafs moved up to 9th.

He is a big upgrade on our power play, can eat minutes with Dion instead of crappy Carl, and wouldn't cost us the future. I'd prefer Wideman or Gio, hence why I brought them up. Something has to change because we are getting shelled every night, consistently all year, and blowing so many leads.

You're kidding - 20th!? There must be a bunch of teams with much worse records and out of the playoffs ranked higher. Who's in charge of this, Glenn Healy?

Your answer to blowing leads is improving the power play!?

Leafs power play is not their problem - I think they are 3rd in the NHL.
To me, Yandle makes very little sense on this Leafs team - and he certainly isn't going to be helping to limit blowing any leads.

Gio is a player that I would love to see paired with Ph9 - just not sure how cheap the Flames captain would be.

I would put them 29th because we all know where they'd be if not for that fluke of an October.

Wouldn't hurt if a 7M defenceman could block a shot. Habs tying goal Sat. night shouldn't have made it to the net, Leafs D suck, it starts with the lack of leadership.

Cullen. Columbus are 11th. Although are 7 points behind the Leafs, with 2 games in hand

Weren't the same thoughts, but I don't think Yandle is a liability on defense anyway. I'd trust him on the ice in the last few minutes over Gardiner/Mo/Franson. He has been a plus player on some very average Phoenix teams.

Exactly. Just like Dreger and his working for the Leafs. A conflict of interest for sure.
