Neither rookie goalies are the future they both are atrocious. Goaltending is the #1 reason we are where we are this year. Defense is second.

Nilsson looked like crap, if that was Poulin this board would be ripping him to shreds. Big guy who looks small in the net, so much room to shoot at. We need a proven vet who can make a goddamn save.

Out of all the young goalies drafted, the only one that is panning out is the one goalie who isn't playing for an islanders organization lmao. Koskinen is apparently doing awesome in the khl. I highly doubt that's a coincidence..

There is a major asterisk with this, the KHL is far lower scoring. Koskinen was even less impressive to me when he was here. 6'6 and I could barely tell he was in net he covered so little of it. Kolzig, Bishop are big goalies who use their angles. Ours seem to shrink when the opposing team is shooting.

Nilsson is a lot more in control of himself but he's a pinball machine with his rebounds and seems to not find puck at all through traffic.

I agree on all points. Whoever is coaching these goalies needs a goalie coach themselves. These goalies are getting worse not better.

To the Isles, I'd assume give up some defensive prospects. Maybe Sproul or Marchenko + a pick and an NHLer like Quincey or Abdelkader. I dunno. Holland is hard to guess what he'll do.
