I can punch person B in same place, with same swing, and it causes a small cut and some blood

why get more penalty minutes for one than the other? same intent, same hit, both hurt. a small cut should be irrelevant

For better or worse, they do it this way to remove the judgement of the official out of the equation. Otherwise the same offense could be 2 or 4 minutes depending on the official making the call. That has it's own problems.

We shall see. Caps need one goal to essentially put the game out of reach for us. Flyers need to put 3 on Holtby who is on fire. I certainly hope they pull out the win but I wouldn't bet on it.

The Caps have been basically playing 4 defenseman since Erskine went out. Caps played yesterday. Get on them on the forecheck and try to take advantage.

It really does not matter, who carried the play. Flyers are being punished for defensive lapses on both sides on the puck.
They need to clean up, otherwise they will have to score 5-6 goals every game to win it.
