I think it's important to settle the 2nd line for run in this playoff season. Saad, leg, Kane seems like it would be a formidable line.

No offense (you're one of the good ones) but Gillis is now dealing with a team on the precipice. He should take the best deal and not worry about the west. Worry about it when you are contending again.

This is his problem though. In his mind, he will always be the inventor of the game.

That said, the best deal may come from Pittsburgh or the Bruins. They both have an abundance of D prospects NHL ready and a few younger NHL players Gillis should want. Cap space will be an issue for all though.
