Miller down 2-0 to the Yotes. Yotes' 4th line just beat him. - MartiniMan
Miller will fold like a cheap suit under the pressure. |

Nothing would be funnier than Miller giving them worse goaltending than Halak did, and Ott being less of a factor than Stewart was... |

Does Pirri's departure add any cap room for us ? - philco28
No, because he wasn't on the current NHL roster. All it does, as someone noted earlier, is it opens up a spot on the 50 max contracts. |

Us is too busy dancing at the moment to join us. - Elbows15
I am sure he's just giddy with delight! Question - will he use Pirri's name in a post now that he's gone? |

Contracts for players such as Johns and Hayes would be signed for next season, thus making this a moot point. - EKolb13
Then they wouldn't be able to join the organization until next season Eli in that case. |

Commonly, a player in the situation of Johns or Hayes can finish the season in Rockford on a PTO and then can sign a ELC that starts the season after. |

What the hell is SB doing?
So far he has given up Stanton, kostka, pirri, Olsen, Hayes, and what has he gotten in return?? Nothing!! - fvineze
Well what do you think you get when you trade nothing? Nothing! Btw Kostka wasn't traded plus no one would give up anything for him. |

I think he's wondering what to do with all his new found free time now that he doesn't have to argue with multiple posters on bringing up Pirri. |

One angle that hasn't been discussed is that this opens up a slot for another contract. IIRC the Hawks now have 48 organisational contracts. So one of Johns, Hayes or whomever can be signed if Stan and co. decide to do that now. - prd797
Thought the max was 50. |

Well no more Pirri debates and no more Steve Ott trade scenarios what are we going to argue about now. |

It's different. The PTO I'm talking about is an AHL contract, and doesn't count against the NHL 50 contract rule. The ELC that they will sign that starts next season counts against the 50 max rule next season.
Having an open spot on this year's 50 contracts doesn't have anything to do with this. |

Close to nothing... Versteeg hadn't been setting the works on fire since he got here... I think he picked up some bad habits in FL and hasn't shaken them.
Oh and shipping off Frolik, Bolland, and Stalberg, only to waste the savings on Bickell and CC also defies rational explanation... - fvineze
Dude were in the salary cap era so not everyone can be kept at high price tags based on roles. You do know that right? So paying Frolik made no sense. Stalberg is garbage. Bolland has been hurt yet again most of this year. Sure Bickell hasn't been good but he's been hurt however his size is a factor especially in the playoffs. Before last year they didn't have someone who knew how to use his size like that since Buff. And what's wrong with Crawford? |
