They play like that every game and you can make your avatar Nathan MacKinnon wearing a Lehigh jersey for all I care. - rollpards19
Speaking of MacKinnon Rollie. Keep an eye on that kid. He is going to be special. Seems like the type of player you would like. |

Well Nonis is a separate problem, and that's for the Leafs to figure out.
Now Gillis, on the other hand, hasn't been let go largely because the Aquilini family is clueless. It's like the McCaskeys with Jerry Angelo, one finals appearance gives you leeway for years of incompetence and stupidity. - prd797
Brain cramp. Thanks for the correction.

Nester would never survive that.
But - who would play wing?
I'd rather Morin come up - maybe he still has something he could show Q. - StLBravesFan
Aww Sage. Always looking out for me. More than anything, I don't like Zues playing with Kane. I always liked Zues as a player. Just don't think he has enough left to play up there. Regin has never been anything BUT a fringe NHL'er. Big difference in talent between those two. If it was 4-5 years ago, it isn't an issue to am anyways. |

With the Lack saga today, Canucks seem to be their own worst enemy. How does that Nonis and the rest of that leadership group still have their jobs? - MartiniMan
Gillis is slowly running than team into the ground. He hasn't replaced the talent that has left, drafted poorly, made bad trades, and treated many players poorly. It will get worse in Vancouver before it gets better. |

An incredible skater. Will be a big time goal scorer. Could see him being very similar to Kovalchuk in production. But Avs fans don't see a ton of defensive potential in him and he might stay a winger. I like Barkov and Monahan a ton from that draft, especially Barkov. That kids awesome. |

I'm not one to fan the trade flames, especially for a move anything beyond an extra depth defenseman or a Marcel Goc-like extra center, but the Hossa injury does pose an interesting possiblity: placing Hoss on LTIR for the 10 game minimum would allow them to add a slightly larger salary than they could before yesterday.
Nah....
EDIT: The Caps third period melt-down today was something to behold. |

Agree about Barkov. Like Monahan too. Think he will eventually move to center. Defense can be taught as long as the player has the commitment. IMO, he does. |

Pretty sure its the shoulder with Hossa. Watching the replay, after the hit he grabbed his right shoulder briefly. A week or two off for Hoss isn't exactly the worse thing that happen going forward. Especially with some reports indicating the Hawks were looking to give him rest down the stretch. |

No it wouldn't. The Hawks are over the cap and cannot accumulate cap money. Even if they could, the TDL is in a couple days and the amount would be meaningless. They've got what they've got... |

That was the spot that took the hit. And the fact that Q could say it wasn't long term supports your point - I think he wouldn't know that as much if it were the back. I think I'd rather it be the shoulder than the back again. |

Shoulder is much better than back. Plus now we get to see Saad/Toews and they're awesome together |

Saad and Toews have been great together. Saad can take Hossa's spot while he's out and Morin should take Saad's on the 3rd line. |

I still don't see the need for marty. Plus I'm sure he makes too much money. I see him going to Minny. - tomcat24
Agree. Agree with Al too. Can see a depth move but not a big splash for Hawks at the TDL.

Anyone can say sources said....He didn't say it was his source.
JJ clued everyone in the other day of what is happening concerning the Kesler trade chatter...And everyone knows the 1 hole the Hawks have is at 2C.
The Pens can fit him and it makes sense but the Hawks can't.
Bowman emphatically said last night in front me and many others that he isn't even getting incoming calls about trades.
He likes his team and there is no way Gillis can trade with the Hawks unless drastic overpayment....The conversation starts with Brent Seabrook and probably includes a few others.
Of all the Organizations the Canucks would not deal with, the Hawks are at the top of the list...Certainly not for Bryan Bickell unless many others included.
The next time I'm wrong about player X coming to the Hawks at the deadline I will be the first to write so....But since 2006 it hasn't happened one time.
Hawks give Penguins the cold shoulder, 5-1.Outdoor game, Bowman presser & trade deadline expectations.

As always, a great read. Glad to hear I wasn't the only one who didn't enjoy the constantly moving overhead camera work.
