TT, Dannault, McNeil, and a 1st for Lu
- Ogilthorpe2

They need to add 3 1st to that deal. and keep half of Lu's salary for the remainder of the contract.

Moving was a break for the ol' liver, eh?

What are your thoughts about the remainder of the season for the Wings?

- mohel

Well, here is my very buzzed opinion. The Wings are hard pressed with Zetterberg out and Datsyuk potentially reinjured with his knee. We're holding tight onto 7-8 seed in the conference and solid play from our defense and goaltenders may keep us in that exact spot the rest of the season.

I think the Wings will make the playoffs because of smart players like Tatar, Nyquist and DeKeyser.. they are the new (but not replacing) Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Lidstrom for us. While still young, their plays are amazing and a real showing of why Detroit has the BEST development program in the NHL.

I'm a little worried about Howard for obvious reasons. A very good goalie, but not elite. He scares me at times, but he has proven to be like Johan Franzen.. once playoffs are around the the corner, he goes into beast mode.

Also, Stephen Weiss's return is a little scarey. While centers like Helm, Andersen, Glendening and Sheahan have provided great depth for us, having a 5mil for 5 year center off LTIR means he'll be top six again. He's been very bad for us thus far, but we all know he can and has been a reliable forward in the past. I just hope this year his bad productivity was due to lingering injuries. I think Weiss returning will make or break a very bubble team.

In terms of trade. Vanek, no. Moulson, no. Edler, maybe. Kesler, I'd like it. Hemsky, no.

That wasn't too tipsy sounding was it?

Been there many, many times going back to when it was still called La Chicanita. Used to live just across the tracks above La Tasca.

Not bad on the tipsy front. It seems on the outside like the injuries are really taking a bite - as they should given the players involved. It also seems like a transition period from older stars to the young kids.

I'd like to see them make a run in the East. The Hawks pretty much used the Wings as a blueprint, and I like the style of play, so much respect to the Wings from me.

Yeah, could you imagine the Hawks with Crawford, Toews, Hossa, Kane, Krueger, Saad, and Seabrook injured lots? It sucks.

The "good but not elite" argument is had on this thread on a bi-weekly basis (at least) about Crawford.

Crawford = Howard in my opinion. Both are good throughout regular season and above good to awesome in the playoffs until a fairly crucial game. Both are overpaid and overhyped.

Getting healthier now, and I would bet Z is back for the playoffs. They will be a tough out.

At what cost, though? If Holland gave up DeKeyser, Nyquist, Sheahan or Tatar I would find him and subject him to a death by 1000 cuts.

Random drunk question. Who'd you rather have at peak performance, Toews or Zetterberg?
