Brent Sutter is playing? He is even older than Zus. Slower too.

Is the Chicago game being televised in Canada?

HNIC has Montreal/Toronto.

Could they have a better head coach in Rockford? Absolutely. But don't knock the likes of Bolland, Crawford, Hjalmarsson, Shaw, Leddy, Stanton, Bollig and Smith, among others who have passed through Rockford on their way to the NHL.

- EKolb13

And pretty much all these guys are third/fourth line guys or third pairing dmen

Rockford is great for developing depth guys, but I don't trust them with a guy like TT, because they have yet to show development of a guy that could be a top 6er

Hammer is the only one to exceed anything beyond third pairing/bottom six and that was 5+ years ago now under the Talon era

I'm not too keen on the idea of coughing up a prospect who could be in the top 6 someday. The Hawks probably won't have another shot of drafting high in the first round for the foreseeable future to get their hands on another kid like this.
- EKolb13

I get your point, but you never know when a player might drop. TT fell to us at #18 so you never know. I wouldn't want to trade 2 potential top-6 guys, but I think we can afford to give up one to get a guy like kesler and really solidy our shot at a few more Cups

Finally caught up...

Bickell, TT, Pirri for Kesler and a 2nd.

Done.

Chances are fairly high that TT will never be as good as Kesler at the NHL level. The time to win is now.

Okay, look at where the Hawks are drafting. What more do you expect, other than role players, bottom 6 help and bottom 2 paring defensemen.

There hasn't been a lot of top end talent that has passed through Rockford. So who's to say that Dent, or Rockford in general will (frank) it up?

Look at the first round picks since the Hawks moved their operations to Rockford. Beach was a head case from the get-go. Skille couldn't count to twenty without taking his skates off. Both bad first round picks by Tallon. Toews and Kane, they were destine to go straight to the show. Olsen was a late 1st round pick, and look where he is now. No one was fingering him to be top paring talent in the first place. McNeill and Danault just started their pro careers this season. Teravainen could get his first taste of North American Hockey later this month. Kevin Hayes and Hartmann could get their first taste of pro hockey later this month as well.

So again, I ask...what are you basing your argument on?

Maybe. However, how much longer is Kesler going to be top end talent? Can he remain healthy?

Whether you are fan of them or not. This is the best setting I have seen for an outdoor game. Doesn't look like the rink is in the middle of an open field.

Edit. FFS. I think I cleaned it up. finally.

Agreed. The fact that Soldier Field is the smallest stadium in the NFL makes it better suited to this than most.
