Realistically, if bowman wants Kesler, Gillis will not accept anything less than TT.....that's a fact. Will it happen? Who knows......there may not even be a match there but rest assured that Kesler will not be dealt for less....

I think you're right about TT. I also think Stan won't give up TT, unless he's been pumping his tires to fool someone in a trade (and I don't think that). So, I doubt all the Kesler lovers in Van City will need to go out and get their Hawks sweater. If it were to happen there will be fans in both cities that puke a bit in their mouths!

The only puking that would be done would be coming from drunk Chicago fans when they win their third cup in five years.

No. There are a LOT of Hawks fans who would feel dirty having to cheer for Kesler - they'd get over it if he played well, as they did with Rodman, but there would be some moaning and groaning (and not just from Elbows shifting in his chair ).

Bick's contract isn't going to keep the Hawks from signing anyone the want Pards. And why one run at it? The team is young enough to make several. Plus. Legwand has been a minus player a lot on a defense first team. Plus minus isn't a be all end all by any means. However, over the course of a career? It has merits.
- Elbows15

They are strapped this year, think he checks a few boxes.
An extra $4m gives them a lot of flexibility over the summer.
Without looking, how many guys have been a plus on nashville? Especially in the first half of his career? Dunno, just spit balling

Kesler is a broken down and old 31 years of age. No way anyone gives that much youth for him. A couple years from now he'll resemble a rusted old shopping cart with a wonky wheel
- reeder16

That 29 year old, would be fourth on Chicago in goals scored, two behind Hossa and has one of the better contracts in the league with two years remaining.

I would hate to see him go, especially to Chicago but, not only would i instantly become a fan but you guys would absolutely love him, also giving you guys arguably the two best defensive centers in the league.

Why would Chicago not move youth for him? Chicago is already a perennial contender with the core you have now, with Kesler you become a dynasty overnight.

Why not dump some prospects and potentially win another three consecutive cups?

Really, there's not much to lose.

Just caught up. Why wouldn't you do Kesler for something built around Bickell & TT? There are no guarantees in sports. JR's Hawks I'm sure thought they were getting back to the finals a few more times. If the trade really is out there, you go for the gold and make yourselves solid favorites for at least the next three years.

Plus Brookbank could probably get a good return for holding the number 17 hostage.

I'm not too keen on the idea of coughing up a prospect who could be in the top 6 someday. The Hawks probably won't have another shot of drafting high in the first round for the foreseeable future to get their hands on another kid like this.

You consider giving up TT for Kesler if you haven't won anything yet and this is going to be your run.

Not if you've won 2 out of 4, with enough of a young core to have hopes of keeping it going for a while.
