We have no one to back up Kuemper, who was a giant question mark before this sudden dominance. Backstrom is a giant female dog, so a vet with expiring contract would be nice for remainder of this season

If that is true then it might kill Murray's plan in Buffalo....Minnesota feels like the best fit for Halak...cause Philly makes NO SENSE and I think if Pittsburgh gets that really might hamper your team by killing MAF's confidence unless your totally done with him

No clue. Just what I'm hearing out here. My guess is, if Kuemper continues to play like he has, there's no need to go looking for a #1 goalie. Plus, Backstrom is unfortunately signed for another 2 seasons after this and cannot be bought out (compliance).
If the price tag was similar between Brodeur and Halak, then I'd have no clue why the Wild would still prefer Brodeur.
