Sabre fans know more then me about their executives, but i gotta say IMO i think their making a mistake on letting Lafontaine leave.

Why? Because he was a good player? What use do they have for him? How many Chiefs do they need?

If the split really was over the Miller trade - I don't care what Dreger says, the timing is far too coincidental otherwise - then no, they objectively made the right call.

Bottom line, at this point one has far more reason to think Murray knows what he's doing versus Lafontaine. The very fact this is the SECOND time Lafontaine's quickly flamed out of an executive job should tell you all you need to know.

Its just my opinion...mine.....Lafontaine has forgot more hockey then we will ever know.By the sounds of it he wasnt a fan of some of the moves...One of them might be not resigning Nolan.

Like i said its just my opinion,i could be wrong.Hes a good hockey guy.

Oh, I'm sure he is. But sometimes when you a group of guys calling the shots, in this case you have Pegula, Patrick, Murray and LaFontaine, all have to be on the same page. If one guy can't seem to buy in, then it's usually best to cut ties. Devils Advocate is okay in some situations, but if youre working against the teams mission, then it's time to go.

Agreed. I don't think anyone would really mind having an Ales Hemsky on their team. It would just have to be the right price for that team for people to be happy. I know I wouldn't mind him instead of people like Cleary or Samuelsson.

He's a good player. People sh!t on him a lot for reasons they're not even sure about. If a good team that has a couple of pure shooters and need a pass first winger ,gives up a 2nd rounder, they will be be pretty happy. Once he gets into another line up I think he will shine.

He'll thrive if traded to the right team... and what a shot by Sharp.

Edit: and to continue, yeah, I'd definitely give up a Wings second rounder for him in this years shallow draft.

I would like that. To see him play somewhere where he can thrive and enjoy the playoff's would be great.
