Yes, Staal was leaving then or the next summer for nothing... Plus Vancouver would also get a 3rd to kind of help that difference.

In the end, if Kesler is pushing for a trade, he's worth whatever return a team that he will go to, gives up.

im not disagreeing with you but I think comparing Kesler and Staal's returns is a little unfair to an extent.

Kesler's no trade clause evens the playing field between the two. He can basically choose his destination much like Staal did.
