Why do I think that there will no trades hardly at all next Wednesday? Or do people think that all of Girardi, St.Louis, Callahan,Hemsky,Kesler, Vanek, Briere, Gagner, The Buffalo Sabres, Cammalleri will actually get moved?
I bet we see about 10 trades for NHL players and some minor league moves and not much else. - Jeropotato
I think deadline day will be quiet, like it always is, but there will be moves leading up to that day. |

I think that is delusional thinking. Idiots would suggest Maatta being traded. I wish people would use common sense instead. - Oneonta Penguin
I know man I doubt Pittsburgh even accepts a trade of Kesler straight up for Maata let alone adding Sutter into the mix. |

Makes perfect sense... - MnGump
Some have suggested they are interested in Myers - and perhaps they are looking for a piece to put together a package to get him and are willing to give him up.
Enjoy Vanek... |

Wishful thinking. Not very many good sellers/buyers ratio this year. |

I expect Callahan, Hemsky, Vanek, Gagner, Moulson, Cammy, A.MacDonald to be moved. MSL, Kesler/Edler at the draft. I'm 50/50 on Girardi, I could see him being re-signed, but Anaheim makes a lot of sense. And you'll have the usual Panthers firesale, probably a couple of them move for picks/prospects. |

What does that mean? He won't be moved, even if it means improving the team? |

Maata is going nowhere. He is their only healthy good D-man and he is 19. |

Kesler for Maata isn't an improvement throw something in there that'd helps the Pittsburgh D as well. Maata>Kesler. |

Well, I don't really know, but I'm pretty sure that there are currently a few hundred players better, at the moment, then Maata. Now, could you improve the team by dealing Crosby? Not likely, but Maata is what he is. A great young ,developing player, not the best player in the world. |

Untouchable gets thrown around way too much these days - Gretzky was traded. Nobody is untouchable.
Also apparently Maata is now the next bobby orr. Guys awesome but anyone can be traded. |

Yeah, that talk has really ramped up these past few months. We will see how he develops. |

So to improve the team you would have to get back an equally good D and a top 6 F |

He's on pace for a 35 pt rookie season - i can think of a few other rookie dmen who have had similar seasons and didn't turn into superstars. But then again there are some that did - calling him untouchable though is silly. |

Why does Pittsburgh need to bring in anyone from another team? They have God and Jesus are a 1-2 punch. If anything needs to change it's a piece on defense to replace Martin. Other than that, they are plenty deep with Jokinen, Kobasew, Sutter, Neal, Kunitz Pyatt... Let a kid or two grab a spot for now with the injury to Dupuis. Kesler would get lost in the shuffle there, |

Pit doesnt need Forwards, and trading away maata for a forward would make no sense. especially there best d man, so unless they get back a solid number 1 or 2 d man - it would not be an improvement |
