Not sure why everyone is so quick to want to sit Meszaros. He's got 17 points in 36 games played. I haven't looked, but that's probably the top point producer from the backend on the team if you take in account points per game.....

Luke Schenn, or Grossmann should sit before Mez does. Two turnover prone sloth's that bring zero offense.

yes lets sit schenn so he doesn't gain experience needed to become a decent NHL dman

Would you trade Primeau for Schenn?
- jak521

I'd trade him for Brind'amour but I'd probably have to throw in Lindros.

Honestly, I have to say I've been impressed at how he's been able to bounce back from what seemed like a career changing/ending series of injuries. While I'm still cautiously concerned that he's now an injury waiting to happen, he doesn't appear to be a worthless player and may even be a valuable one...not sure if he's in the Flyers plans going forward, but with his play he shouldn't necessarily be out of the picture...that said, I would be hesitant to sign him to even the same salary he's at now primarily due to that potential injury discounting his value.

They will have plenty of wiggle room after filling out the roster.. Cap space will not be a problem.
- jak521

It's always a problem. Instead of addressing our needs during the off-season, a big name 30+ forward will become available and the Flyers will change the direction of the ship to get him.

Okay, but be careful... he is pretty fragile.

Discounting Prongers contract roughly 14 contracts at 54 mil.

Not sure experience is what keeps Schenn down. He's just an average dman who thinks he's more than the sum of his parts.

I think I am in the minority here, but it really hasnt been much of a problem. It hasnt prevented them from offering huge contracts to guys like Parise, Suter, Weber. It didnt prevent them from getting Pronger. It didnt keep them from extending Giroux..

Oh I don't really care what they end up doing. I've decided that I no longer really care about the players. If every single player was traded tomorrow and we won the cup this year, I'd be just as happy.

My loyalty lies with the Flyers, not the turd nuggets they pay to play for them.

maatta wouldnt enter the realm of conversation. my head says no for pouliot, but a good part of me would really think about it.

The Maata thing was a joke. Pouliot was the real one I was asking about

B. Schenn + Gus

Looking at capgeek, they will have around 12.6 mill.

They need to ru-up Schenn, Raffl, Gus.

They can do that pretty easily IMO.

From there they will likely have about 8 mil to add 2 d-men and a backup goalie...

It's probably fair (right now) but Myers has been on a slow regression since he won the Calder. I'll pass.

FWIW, Schenn's cap hit will go down.

Also, don't forget about the offseason 10% overage.

Myers looks so lost these days. I don't know if he's completely regressed or just needs a change of scnenary.

It's hilarious. This guy has actually, by some minor miracle, played well enough to become a viable trade chip thats going to net us maybe a 2nd rounder as an expiring contract, and people are talking about keeping this guy.

Played well enough?

I think he's finally getting back to his old self.

At least that's how I see it.

I'm not even sure.

What's your position on L. Schenn?
