Isn't this the scenario for which agents ask for NMC in their clients contracts, GM's understand what they are and how they're used, it's the fans that don't understand - cranford93
I don't think that really matters in the grand scheme of things. Fans can understand it all they want(or not), but the bottom line is fans are extremely fickle when it comes to a player asking to be moved. Especially a fan favorite! I think that makes it all the more damaging to that players reputation. Fans feel like a "jilted lover" as another poster previously wrote. |

The idea that you are blaming Yzerman for this is flabbergasting. Let me get this straight, you are ok with Marty demanding a trade because his GM left him off the Team Canada roster and acted like a professional that wasn't "looking out for his own" but for the greater good of team Canada? That's nuts. Not only that, Yzerman has done nothing but get results for the Lightning since he was named the GM. He has acquired tons of talent and depth and put that franchise in a position to be successful in SOUTH FLORIDA! |

What you say is true except you forgot one detail. Yzerman resigned from any future Team Canada duties. That doesn't mean that he doesn't feel the medal(s) are worth it, it just means that he doesn't want to deal with this type of bullpoop in the future and wants to be the GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning without and repercussions from Team Canada duties - uf1910

Ek, you're an idiot. Lots of people must tell you this but at some point you must realise it yourself. Admitting you have a problem is the first step. - RealityChecker
But you all keep reading his stuff! |

Don't even know where to begin with this absurd blog other than to say - Ek, how much effort do you actually think it takes to scout for Team Canada versus scouting for an NHL team? |

One thing I will say is that I don't believe the trade request is entirely because of the Olympic snub. I think there was probably some other stuff and that it was likely just the last straw. Don't really have anything to back this up but I just have a feeling there's more to it |

Ek, there are many to choose from, but in my opinion, this is by far your dumbest entry I have seen since I've been reading this site.
So, dumbest in 5 years.
Congrats. You found a way to make yourself look even more ridiculous. |

I would think there has to be unless he was downright disrespected and mistreated by Yzerman, highly unlikely.
Maybe he saw a window of opportunity to make his move and its something that's been on his mind.
He lives near NY, players have families, he wants to be near his kids(if he has any I dont know) and maybe he wants to be a NY Ranger?? Who knows the reasons are plentiful.
Hell maybe he just wants a change, his career is nearing its end unless he pulls a Selanne.

Hey Ek, you've sort of hinted at terrible of a GM Yzerman is, how long before you think he is fired? I give it a week max. Any plans to submit a resume for the position? - hankthetank
Nah he's waiting for Holmgren to get canned, its Philly or nowhere. |

Does Eklund do this for his living? Or is he a professional who just does this on the side? |
