From a pure health standpoint I think he'd be crazy to come back this year. Any kind of stroke, even the most minor, is a very serious medical condition and not something that should be taken lightly.

Yeah -- for whatever reason, I'm interpreting it as he is relatively fine, from a normal human standpoint. But for what it takes to be an elite, professional athlete...there certainly didn't appear to be the kind of news that makes you feel that's going to be a given.

FWIW Moves I'd like to see the Flyers make between now and the trade deadline:

Trade Mez if you can get at least a 3rd for him, if not keep him for depth
Acquire an upgrade, even a slight one, for Hall or Rinaldo on the 4th line

That would be enough for me, they can make a more significant move to upgrade the D in the offseason.

Agreed -- I'm fine if that's all they do. I want them to make the playoffs, have Mason play well down the stretch.
