Not gonna split hairs. The point is they shouldn't even consider being buyers this deadline. They are nowhere close to being a threatening team in the playoffs, save for a few huge moves happening at the deadline.
- hereticpride

They should consider being buyers within reason. If a deal that is good for now, and for the future is available, then go ahead and make it. If a minor deal is available that can provide some help, then make it

I'm not going to overreact to this one game. Before the break they beat LA and this Sharks team. Did that make them a Cup favorite? I think middle ground needs to be found in looking at this team. They can be real good, and they can be real bad.

Tonight's game had zero to do with being too slow. This game was about mistakes. Bad turnovers, and bad coverages. it's that simple.
- MJL

I don't know about that.

The team hadn't played in two weeks....

Was anyone really expecting them to come out and dominate?

Why did Jagr, who played in the Olympics, and is old enough to be Timonen's Grandfather play tonight?

No, but I expected them to come out and continue to play how they played in the first period all game long.

I agree that was part of the problem but I also think being slow was too. You said it had zero to do with it.

It drives me crazy how this team just seems to go through the motions and think that is ok. Sorry boys no one is scared of you and will just hand the game over to you for just showing up. You need to play like a team, do they know what that means.

Anaheim has 4 picks in the first two rounds and 8 million in cap room. For the love of god move Kimmo.

But the Sharks are not the Flyers, who are notorious for never playing a full 60 minute game.

Can't blame them for going through the motions. They just captured a Cup when bell bottoms, 8-tracks, and 13 cent stamps were en vogue... complacency can set in.

To me that's a contradiction. This team isn't slow. They play slow at times. How can the issue be that they're too slow if they're just going through the motions? What team is fast just going through the motions? They certainly aren't what I would call a fast team, but they aren't slow. And when they're up on their skates and compete, they're a good team. When they aren't, and are just going through the motions and stop competing. Which happens far too often. They aren't a good team.

And yet we're in the regular season where they are usually spot on.

I'm saying tonight they looked slow out there. There have been games where they have gotten after it, but far to often they don't. And that is what I mean by just going through the motions.

um the sharks have had issues all season with starting out well in the 1st then faltering in the later periods and having to come back
