If I were Jagr I'd be worried about treasure hunters abducting him and forcing him to tell them where he's hidden the fountain of youth. - JAKEw1234
LOL
In a couple more years as he approaches 2000 points the Flyers will be wondering why they didn't just give him a 3 year deal when they had the chance. All kidding aside, he is truly a freak of nature. |

Just ridiculously strong -- he had "man strength" when he was 18 years old, and while he's slower, he's still strong as (frank)

Sure it backfired -- you traded the younger goalie, kept the goalie who you benched, and now you're 9th in the West and talking about retooling your team to get younger...with the 34-year-old goalie instead of the 26-year-old goalie.
That's a straight-up miscalculation of leverage, and it was costly. - AllInForFlyers
They traded the younger goalie by choice. They weren't forced to do so. Is Vancouver in 9th place because they traded Cory Schneider? And we'll see how much retooling Vancouver actually does. They could've traded Luongo.

i still think kesler has 3 or 4 good years in him. should they choose to move him he can bring pieces in. but he seems more like a solution than the problem. |

When the team owner has to fly to the older goalie's home in Florida to make sure the older goalie is even going to report, yeah, you were forced to trade the other goalie

I don't think he's going to be the offensive player he's been. He's had a lot of injuries. Id be worried about those catching up to him. |

Well of course you want to see where Luongo's head is, when coming to a decision of what move to make. Didn't Luongo request a trade? So why wasn't Luongo traded? If Vancouver was forced to trade either player, it was Luongo. But the very fact that they didn't trade Luongo, tells us that they weren't forced to do anything. |

I think he's got more then that. He may not be a 40 goal scorer anymore. But he was on pace for 27 before the break, and he has a solid 2 way game.

yeah. but as was just said above, these types of guys do break down quick. i dont see him as a 40 goal scorer, but i wouldnt need him to be. so being conservative, id say 3 or 4 more years where youre gonna get high 20s, low 30s in goals combined with stellar defense. for 5 mil a year? sign me up. |

He got a helper on that 2nd goal no?
He definitely fumbled a lead pass during the PP, other than that I thought he's got a feisty combative element in his game tonight. |

I don't have the concerns that a lot of people have over age. Players are playing longer and longer. It's not uncommon for players to play at a high level into their 40's. Kesler is only 29, and even though he's had his share of injuries, I still think there are plenty of productive years left.

So our 4th line has been on the ice for a goal against and took a penalty on the PP. |
