It had more to do with them making slow decisions. Holding the puck too long.

He's worth a 4th. I still don't think they should trade him unless someone offers a 2nd. He's more valuable on the roster. You can see how nice it is to have a defenseman of his caliber while Timonen is out.

Downie has looked great. His nifty little pass to Mez was a great play. I think he feels very comfortable with Read and Couts.

It may have to do with a lot of things. I think his demotion to the 4th line had a bad effect. He didn't seem to have the same spark and Chief benched him because of it.

I can see why he'd be upset about a demotion during his contract year.

The concussion probably had an effect as well. I had one and the hardest part is not shying away from taking a hit. Concussions are scary as hell.
