JVR for Luke Schenn leads me to believe it's possible.
- PotvinFan

the only flyers moving will be one of b.schenn, couts, laughton and morin plus the usual defense fillers (mez, coburn, etc) when the flyers make a move for a #1 dman

I have a feeling *if* the pens were interested Stevey Y would be pushing hard for Pouliot. Just my opinion but when you have the chance to put 87 and MSL together for 2 cup runs i think it would have to be something Shero would consider, but I am certain there are cap complications that as an average joe i just cannot figure out.

Who would actually want to trade for this classless piece of garbage now? Walking out on the organization that gave you everything and your teammates who are ready to make a playoff push...Hurt the little shmuck's feelings and he will want out again
- keatondixon

This.
I had a lot of respect for MSL until this. He really got his panties in a bunch over not being picked? Be a real pro like Giroux, Hall, Staal, etc. who said nothing when they weren't selected.

.....at the draft and yes there will be an overpayment that i will hate when they do make the move for that "number 1 D"

May have to throw Maata in there somewhere. I think MSL will bring a lot back in a trade

I know there won't be much smoke around the kings on this guy being available, but it is exactly what we are allegedly looking for in a player. So I have to at least think Dean is in on this bid, but the pieces going to tampa would have to have some salary going their way...

Players I could see going for MSL (any combination) Martinez, Toffoli, Vey, Voynov, Williams, Stoll, Clifford and the 3rd rounder we got for scrivens, (because I think that is all we have and would be willing to offer *sets down paper bag filled with glue,,,, walks away*

#1 D don't really get traded at the deadline, or ever.

Jesus Christ, no, no and no...
Terrible deal for the Leafs...

- BoBBeR56

a 7th D and oft injured Lupul who lately looks like he's carrying weights on his back.

Not sure it would be as bad as you think...Kadri/St Louis/Clarkson

Your right...Yzerman would have to be on a week long beer and cocaine binge to make that deal.

Maata isn't going anywhere, he's like a Rielly to the Penguins.

I could see that. I would think Tampa would push for either Pouliot, Despres, a second assest, and then a first round pick. I am just wondering what Shero would be willing to give up and what the cap space looks like.

And BTW - that Letang signing right now is killing our options!!!

So you clearly don't watch the Leafs in the least...Gardiner is hardly a 7th d-man.
Gardiner is 3rd on the Leafs in average time on ice per game...quite a bit for a 7th d-man
Oft injured Lupul would be 3rd on the Habs in scoring and has missed time...and has pretty much been a PPG player over the last 3 seasons.
Not to mention Lupul is only 30, Gardiner is only 23...and St.Louis will be 39 in June.

Colorado would definitely need to include an additional asset. Parenteau is good but not all that young. I would imagine they would want something to build around. IMO

Agreed. Maata is currently probably about third on the chart of untouchables in Pittsburgh behind Crosby and Malkin.

Also could you imagine a powerplay combination featuring Crosby, Malkin, MSL, Neal, and Letang (when and if he comes back). That would be nasty.

he has been the best canadian player since the last olympics. id be pissed too if i was left off the roster and my GM was picking the team. dont say size matters. this guy has been almost a point per game player as one of the smallest in the league his whole career. either way id prefer not to see marty go but now would be the best time to move him if we did to get the biggest return.

Because generally a forward line has two wings. See diagram below:

Wing - Center - Wing

Now since we have that settled...
