Elite is Elite regardless if its regular season or not. There a bunches od "elite" players who fizzel out in the playoffs every year in all kinds of sports.

We came up with a few goalies that could be questionable as "elite" or "top 5-7" but still overall 75-80% of cup winning teams have had a atleast a top 7 goalie in order to win the cup.

Show me something that can support your side of the argument?

#1 i agree teams need top goalies to win, but not EVERY team that has won has this goalie. a dominant defense can help a less than elite goalie. see detroit. they won with goalies less than elite. Osgood comes to mind

#2 again there is no proof of who has the deepest pool of prospects. i dont have any and you dont have any. its an opinion. our differ. nothing else to be said about it.

Chris Osgood was not elite. Sorry, but he's not. Very good? Yes. Elite? No.

I wouldn't even call JS Giguere elite. And he's won a Cup and a Conn Smythe before. But he also played on a very good team and that's why he got the Cup.
