As Jsaq said, I would take him in a deal sending Vinny the other way. I highly doubt that would happen though for various reasons.
The Jackets apparently activated Gaborik off IR. I wonder if he'll get dealt if the Jackets retain some of the cash? - hereticpride
It's not going to happen, which was sort of my point. Kesler's actually not having a dreadful season(actually he's got 20 goals, so he's scoring at least), but they're going to want a Schenn or Couturier type back and it's just not worth it. |

He is, but he's still not a good fit for the Flyers.
The Canucks are looking for a guy like Brayden Schenn in return, according to what McKenzie laid out. A young-under 25-1a/2b center with 20-25 goal potential who plays with an edge. - Jsaquella
They want to replace Kesler with a guy Kesler used to be. |

HA! Hell, if you've got that kind of young player who is doing that, you might as well keep him! These teams are effing crazy about what their "asks" are -- who the hell do they think doesn't see Ryan Kesler is CLEARLY not the player he was?

It's all BS. They put that out there just to see if anyone bites. I doubt Kesler gets moved. He's still a very valuable player.
Maybe they deal him in the offseason when they know what is available in FA. |

Which makes a ton of sense...I just don;t want to be the team holding the bag...and I love Kesler. |

The thing about Kesler is the same thing you see about Mike Richards -- who wasn't even banged up that much, as a player.
But Kesler's had reconstructive shoulder surgery, at least one concussion, TWO hip surgeries, a broken foot...
Man, when he goes, he's gonna go JUSTLIKETHAT.

Why not shoot for the moon? They can wait for the draft or summer to move him, and they might as well sell high at the TDL, because they're still alive and he's under contract. Not as if he'll leave as a UFA |

I love him too. However, an aging top 6 forward is the last thing this team needs to spend limited assets on. |

I think he'll hold up as a 3rd line center for a while. I think his days as a 2nd line center may be numbered though.
Lets not start writing his eulogy yet. He's still a good player. He would help any team. |

Beat me to it. I was gonna say they want to take their 2007 Mustang with 80,000 miles to the dealership and get a brand shiny new 2014 model as an even swap. No thanks. |

HA! Exactly -- definitely a player who has/had a lot of game, but he's been ridden hard over the years. I'd be scared -- and while I do agree he's probably got some years left, anytime a guy has hip issues in that league... |

Canucks are at a crossroads. May not be the worst thing for them to deal him now while he still has significant value.
anyone watching the Bruins/Sabers game? Marchand trying to take on Myers. He's such a little pesky (frank). I love him. |

Season still has 2 plus weeks to go........then the playoffs. Their format is not like other leagues.
They rank the teams 1 - 16 not like others with East 1 - 8 & West 1 - 8 |

Im just glad Portland, London, Rimouski and Oshawa all have legitimate shots at winning their leagues. London will be there no matter what. |

With the obvious in London, I'd expect Portland to have the best chance to also make it to the Memorial Cup. |

not surprising considering they have a full grown man that should be in his 2nd year in the NHL already on the team |

A player over 35 wants to be traded? You know the Flyers are all over this. We all know they are. This is when they'll trade some young talent.

I haven't been able to make it to a game since opening night but from what a couple buddies have told me the defense is missing Jones a lot. |
