depends on how bad you want the cap relief and how much Stan the man values making the space for next season.

but if he is looking for the relief, Mitchell would be the player most likely to be added to a deal, probably with a draft pick or a dman like Wilson as well.

You tell me whats the feelings about him and his contract?

Plenty of cap space for next season. Whatcha got? Forget Mitchell. Too old.

hes not chicagos most eligible bachelor like Sharp, you arent a stud muffin till you made the front cover of a magazine.

Sharpie drams of being like Bickell. A big strapping man. With a handsome and charming smile.

I am adding TT. He is the future. Gonna make MacKinnon look like a bust when he brings his all-world talent to NA. Even the most interesting man in the world is going to weep because he is going to know he is over matched.

im tapped out then, only trades avs will make are trying to add a player for the cheap, not in the position to start tossing around big names.

O'Reilly is going to be resigned this summer according to reports and stastny wants to resign, avs want to sign him, depends on what he wants to take for cash

You got your new blog. Will you calm down already. First off. The Canes uniforms are turble. And until Buffalo goes back to their original uniforms, I will protest the stupid little strip that frames their boobies.

Nester - can't go from "cold turkey" straight to the Indianhead in one evening - have to start slowly, work our way back into the crossed tomahawks.

Think either of those two are going to take a pay cut? Well, Stastny? Don't think they can offer one to O'Reilly because of the offer sheet fiasco.

EDIT: this BTW is a serious question. What is your feeling on it?

they can resign O'Reilly at the same rate. he is making 5m cap hit. 6.5m is the qualifying offer, if they sign him to an extension prior to qualifying period they are home free.

Rules are 1st and last year of contract cant differ more than 50% and year to year no larger than 30% difference. a 6 or 7 year contract is easy to keep it reasonable wiht him

Damn how times have changed. Guess winning and a new regime can really change people. It got really ugly with both stastny and my favorite non-hawk O'Reilly.

Unless he has changed his agent. that might be a tough sell.

Think he has the same agent as, whatever that csa one in, it's his dad that was the issue, he was being vocal in the media barking about him through the whole situation about being paid for his sons leadership skills etc, apparently he was upset they made landeskog captain over his kid.

But Roy and sakic apparently have met with him to talk, seems like water under the bridge now but let's see till the final numbers are in

Nope.

When it is clear that Dave Bolland's agent is clear that he can get 5 million for Bolland in the UFA market, Bickells 4 mil is no hardship...
does it get you Callahan long term, then maybe I would smell smoke.

Not happening, l'il Ecklund!

Elbows, is it a Avalanche chubby in your pocket?, because when you go on to another guy O'Reilly who they are NOT moving, I am starting to think so.

and if you think Bickell is overpaid this kid is so also...

Stastny gets traded, most likely in the summer...

What in the hell are you going on about? Show me one post where I have ever said Bickell was overpaid. Go ahead. I will wait.

If you think 5 million is an overpayment for a 2C in today's NHL, the game may have passed you by.

But alas, none of what you commented on is remotely what was going on in here.

The Hartnell trade doesn't make any sense.

Why would the Hawks take on an older player with the same skill set who's signed at a higher price tag for a longer term?

That one was even worse than the Ladd rumor which I thought was BS from the start. These names might have been discussed but I doubt they ever got to the point where actual names were discussed or proposals were made.

Bickell might get moved, but it will be for someone with significantly less money or brings in a different skill.

UFA at the end of this year, have to trade him by next week.

He will probably go to St.Louis and take the money that the Blues are paying the 2 stiffs named Derek Roy and Brendan Morrow.

And he's of the belief that Ladd is going nowhere! All so confusing....

Doesn't seem to make sense from Jets' perspective. I agree; why trade him ???

Hartnell hasn't been the player we remember from the Cup finals for a couple years. And the Jets blogger says that the Jets have no interest in trading their core players like Ladd because they are right in the hunt for the playoff. They look much more like buyers than sellers to me.

I agree with Tessier. There is nothing that the Av's or Flyers would be willing to part with that I would want. Stastny is probably the closest, but if they trade him, it won't be within the Division, and his cap hit is signiicantly higher than Bickell.

As for Bicks....hate to see the org pull the plug on him before we could surmise
if last spring's performance was REAL or just a flash in the pan ?

Bicks has been banged up and may be still dealing with residual pain despite what he or the club says.

Hope we get to see him 1 more time in the playoffs for us.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Hawks take a run at him in the off-season. Doubt they could make it work. Would definitely have to move someone.

The three week break could affect a lot of teams - positively or negatively.

Two or three games before the TDL will point a lot of teams in certain directions.

Really don't see them moving him Phil. He has been a pretty good playoff performer. The deal would have to wow the Bowmans. Like someone mentioned earlier, they generally don't move from off the NHL roster.
