Raffl has played better than Vinny and deserves to be in the top 9 more than Vinny. Every line that Raffl has played on has gotten better. Conversely, every line Vinny has played on has gotten worse. Vinny is in the top 9 strictly because of salary and respect from the coaches.
- PhillySportsGuy

They need to solidify a line for Vinny. Vinny went from St. Louis to B. Schenn. Guy has played 59 games, broken his back, and broken his face but still everyone's quick to point out how bad of a season he's having since breaking his back.

Meanwhile, don't you dare say anything bad about L. Schenn or suffer the wrath of nerd rage from fellow posters.

Funny, I thought the problem was his broken back and broken face. Silly me.

I think the injury is still bothering him. If he continues his current play while injured, he might as well just sit the rest of the season and look to get healthy. He's simply not helping the team by trying to play through his injury.

Hopefully he returns from break spry and ready to roll. That'd be huge.

They've tried Vinny on the top line with G and Voracek. It hasn't worked. They've tried him all over the lineup.

St. Louis played with Stamkos last season. You could argue Vinny has more talent on his line this year with Schenn and Simmer than he did last year.

It would be and I hope I'm wrong about him. I was wrong about Streit. He's been a nice addition. I thought he'd be a huge liability defensively. He hasn't been Adam Foote, but his offense has outweighed his average defense.

I watch far to many games to hate....4 years of hate can't be good for ones health.

Just enjoy the games for what they are. Entertainment. It's not life or death. In 10 years who the hell knows what the NHL will be like. Will probably be wearing full head gear and sticks made of balsa wood.

I hurt my back in November of last year. So almost 4 months ago. I had an epidural and some shots, and I'm still unable to move like I use to. Tying my shoes is now an Olympic event and I can't even medal at this point.

I'm very concerned about his back.

Before he hurt his back, was Vinny one of the best forwards for us?

I have a herniated disc so I know how back issues can effect life let alone hockey. I just never liked the signing. I wanted Schenn to play center and knew Vinny would have a difficult time adjusting to wing after he played center his entire life. They should have signed cheaper 3rd line winger to play with Couts and Read.

He was one of the best through the first 7 games. A lot of that had to do with how bad the rest of the team was. He struggled before he hurt his back.

B. Schenn won't be here too much longer. The Flyers take square pegs and jam them into round holes. What they need to do, is take vinny (square peg) and smooth out the fillets until he can fit into the round hole.

Flyers are renown for their child like approach to fitting players into their "molds". I picture a 2 year old, holding the square, pounding the round hole over and over again expecting it to eventually fit. Then crying when it doesn't and throwing it out in the trash.

I look back at this passage and think to myself, "maybe I need to have sex with the wife tonight."

Is that odd?

Honestly, i think the facial injury started his woes...had trouble adapting to the shield and maybe was a bit gunshy, and then the back started the landslide.

bob McKenzie said that the Canucks are listening to offers for everyone not named Sedin.

I'd have interest in Edler, Bieksa maybe Tanev.

I think Lecavalier is in the top 9 for the same reason why he was signed. Because he's a proven scorer in the NHL. The injury has to be accounted for. I like Raffl as much as anyone, but he may never reach the level that a healthy Lecavalier is at, even at 33.

A healthy Lecavalier, with a little bit of time, will be able to adjust to playing Wing. He's too good of a player, no to be able to. Are you suggesting that he will never be able to adjust and acclimate to the Wing?

If your hopes are hinging on that to happen, you're in for a long painful wait. He hasn't been 100% since... 2008?

I'd have to see some clarification on that. Can you document that Lecavalier has not been 100% healthy since 2008?
