Just like it was impossible for Kovalchuck to get out of his life time deal with New Jersey.

I think Radulov playing for Roy in Colorado would be a spectacular move.

Radulov was clearly Russia's best player at Sochi. He played with heart.

He came to Canada as a junior. He wanted to go back home and play in his own country. He has got that out of his system. Put him with Duchenes or McKinnon and he might be a 50 goal scorer.

The Avs are building a super team. Just a top Dman away from being the best team in the NHL.

There has been a lot of nervousness about the reliability of Russian players over the last few years. Part of it had to do with Sochi and the Russians being drawn to wanting to play in their own country.

I think all the Russian hype and attraction got left behind in Sochi in the 5-0 loss to the Finns. Watch for a significant move of top Russian players wanting back or new stars wanting into the best hockey league in the world.

Over 1/3 of Finland's team is in the KHL, if I'm not mistaken.

Feel for Ryan a little... I do believe with the right team he is that guy who can carry a team over the hump and win the cup...his competitiveness is second to none

Blues would be foolish not to acquire him, have all the pieces except Miller

I don't think Miller puts the Caps over any humps

Although don't see him going to Flyers, that is certainly a team that's been a Ryan Miller away from a cup for many years

Ryan Miller IS a top 3 goalie...
Lundquist, Quick, Miller....With the first two playing on teams w defense. Ryan may be the most technically sound goalie

Unless something is wrong with Giguere that we don't know about Martin Brodeur won't be going to Colorado. He just isn't a big enough upgrade to warrant the effort and he also isn't looking to be a guaranteed backup if he does go somewhere.

Radulov to Colorado sounds friggen terrible other then the fact that Patrick Roy may be able to whoop that Russian in to North American hockey shape. I believe Roy could do it but Radulov should be an actor, he could play every villainous role out there without the least bit acting experience.

Jokerit is joining the KHL next year. If that team continues to play together, they become the next international powerhouse. If Finland didn't have injuries to their key players like Koivu, Filpulla and had Rask in the semi's, Finland goes home with Gold.

That's a bit optimistic. Being the best player on international ice does not translate to being a dominant NHL player. The only players that have lived up to the label of the best player not in the NHL, who played overseas, were guys back in the day like Makarov, Larionov, Fetisov, etc.. Forsberg had that label too and lived up to it. Since then others sadly haven't. Brunnstrom did get a hatty in his first NHL game and the Monster had a few good NHL games though so there's that.

But Radulov has a track record with Nashville and with the Ramparts. He can score. He knows where the net is and he appears fearless in his drive to get to the goal. In junior and with Nashville his play suggested he was a hard nosed Canadian kid and his style was perfectly in line with the tough NHL game. I was shocked when he went back to Russia.

Can anyone think of one reason that Radulov would want to come back to North America? It makes no sense at all.

Again, why would he come back?

He's at home, he's done the NHL thing twice already, and he's making more money there than he will if he comes here.

Why is this amusing to you? Finland plays the best team game. Nobody on the planet with a morsel of hockey knowledge can deny that fact. Canada has the most talent but they got lucky up to the semi's when they took over.

If Rask plays in the semi's against Sweden, Finland is in the Gold medal game.

Radulov has 356 points in 291 KHL games.

He has 102 points in 154 NHL games.

He'll be 30 when his current contract (For $9.2 Million per season) ends.
