If the rumours are true ...

What would it cost MTL to acquire St-Louis from Tampa?

Knowing that he is getting old and that he still has a year left on his contract at 5.7 million ... Wondering what you think it would take to get him Eric.

Would a package including Brière be interresting for Tampa?

Brière + ???? + 2nd round pick in 2014 (??? is an unknown average prospect)

For

St-louis + 3rd pick in 2015

Would that do the deal?

Just asking ... St-louis is the heart that MTL really needs.

- Hemeros

Tampa would have to look at that.

I really think you are undervaluing Briere. He was very sought after in the off-season and has proven this year that he has a lot left in the tank.

Well it's only a trade for the most productive forward in the NHL in the last 5 years.

Clearly a mid range prospect and BRIÈRE are close to what they'd expect.

Average is not a prospect the HABS really want to keep.

And yes Leblanc fits into this type of players
Eller also is a great average player.

What I meant is that they won't send a DeLarose over to tampa for an older player even if he can produce like he is 30 (which he is not anymore).

If that team is Boston or the Pens I get it they are still in the run for the cup ... let them give the farm for a player that wants out of his team and made it known.

I don't see him getting traded before the draft doh ...

Beating an offer of Briere and Leblanc....is not exactly giving up the farm.

To be fair.

Only 29 other teams could easily beat that offer and still win the trade.

Ask yourself a question. Player coming off the Art Ross trophy traded for a borderline 3rd line player at the end of his career and a 2nd. Does this sound like a deal in the making?

In a hypothetical if St.Louis was dealt to Mtl then yes sure maybe Briere is included but along with his would be one of Beaulieu/Tinordi, Maybe a Collberg and a 1st round pick which as anyone will say, won' happen.

Look for St.Louis to be dealt to a team like St.Louis or San Jose or LA first.
