If the rumours are true ...

What would it cost MTL to acquire St-Louis from Tampa?

Knowing that he is getting old and that he still has a year left on his contract at 5.7 million ... Wondering what you think it would take to get him Eric.

Would a package including Brière be interresting for Tampa?

Brière + ???? + 2nd round pick in 2014 (??? is an unknown average prospect)

For

St-louis + 3rd pick in 2015

Would that do the deal?

Just asking ... St-louis is the heart that MTL really needs.

Firstly it's a business Mike, secondly a sport.

Ain't one of them any greedier than the other.

Yes, but the Habs appear to try and show loyality to their players, but it doesn't make a difference. They need to run it like the business that it is.

If they start to be a successful organization, it'll be easier to show loyalty and to attract loyalty from the players.

I think you can show a certain degree of loyalty to a player who helped you win a Cup. Not just because he's been around for a long time.

I think he's there to replace Price while he recovers, but yeah, it will certainly help the confidence

I just think it's a pretty cool experience.

That's the problem, since they haven't won in so long they can't attract players, and they think that if the show loyality to the players that they have developed that they will eventually pay it back.
The last Markov contract and the Emelin contracts are perfect examples of this. Pay them while they are injuried not knowing what the return will be, not only becuase you are scared of losing them for nothing but also as way of showing loyality and faith that they will make the return on that investment.

Yeah, there's surely a middle ground between this and Gauthier's fear of any social contact.

And even then, his cold management is mostly paying off right now.

Oh my sweet Jesus...possibly the worst dreamt up trade offer I've ever seen....that wouldn't even be accepted in NHL 14

Tough situation for MB...trade him now, who knows what your power play looks like...which is a scary thought considering how much they've struggled to score the last while...but, if you are ever going to trade him, it is the time to do it...
If you can get a mediocre PP quarterback in return, whether in the same deal or in a separate one, I would pull the trigger...but to trade him now and not bring anything back that could replace him in any capacity, you're not making it out of the first round of the playoffs, if you even make it at all...I expect a strong run from Ottawa from here on out...I think Murray will improve his team...luckily Detroit may be screwed now that Zett is done
