There's always the very small chance that a team looking to add veteran depth tries to acquire him for a playoff push.

He's not nuts for asking...they'd be nuts to give it to him...

Also, (being a 23 here) maybe he wants out of NY...wants to go to a team that'll REALLY compete for a cup...so it's either he stays for a poopload of $$$ or he goes to a better team...
