Oilhab is dead, but i am here to celebrate his legacy.

From his Humble beginnings in 2006 when hockey was actually discussed with posters who have long since passed away or are now shades of what they were.

From labeling that one leaf fan(weridoh would remember) as the Original Racist was always a fun.

To the persecution of the Original Pecafan

And being the main contributor to the first and last Praxsplosion, Miss you Prax.

being honored with one of the first 2 year bans in HB history will be a cherished memory

Then there was Guimania and the french enough Huile, oh the times they had

Marathon posts about topics that he could care less about like Quebec Politics and the french quota

To coining ever lasting phrases such as The Octocup, Alphaneuf and (frank)ing 23.

Reviving the Richard in the mouth Scooter Art and taking it to the next level, which lead to the demonizing of a young incognito QP with a mere eye patch

to the immortalizing of the night shift with their own portrait

From the sparrs with biggie to being proclaimed Omnipotent by the mighty flapjackinator

To the lovely discussions with that leaf hockey mom and that special little guy prock

and the sleep inducing Adam french blogs, to the Dancing boy blogger Tirades and the Garf battle for the top spot.

to the knowledgeable lectures on Judaism, Grammar and Homosexuality.

and everything in between,

Oh the memories and the giggles....

if i missed anything , don't worry it still means the most or as little as it did when it happened.

Laraqueizdabest and always will be, but brashearizdabest had the most promise

So to those that will remember, it was always fun

to the rest stay Serious

and to the Cheerleading in the room Superfannonfan Sarcastic onlywhendeadserious Blogger, See if you can beef up that fragile ego of yours maybe try playing the game

that's my 5 bucks worth
toodles

Part of me would like to see Markov traded for a good return.

And by good return, I don't mean a late 1st round pick. I mean a winger that can take a spot on the top 6.

If the return is a decent prospect and a pick, then they may as well keep him.

So a top 6 winger for a UFA 35 year old who slows down at the end of the year and has never shown himself to be a playoff warrior?

There's apparently plenty of interest, from multiple teams.

It's generally how teams end up overpaying for a player.

If they can get teams that have rivalries ducks, sj, kings etc they might make out well in a bidding war. Not sure how many PP QBs of his level are available right now. I also think his play has been run down a bit much. He's been a big part of keeping MTL in a PO spot.

Absolutely I just don't see a contender dealing from their top 6 for a rental unless they are on a bad contract, up for a big renewal, or not playing well (Briere/Bourque).

Thing is, not all teams are stuck like the habs with no one in the minors to take a spot in their top 6. Or promote a 3rd line guy to the second.

Montreal doesn't have that depth. But other teams do have it.

I agree its a step back for all teams unless its a team with mediocre PPs like Minny, Ducks, TB or bad PPs like the Kings or Dallas and they might have a player that isn't in their top six but would be in MTLs.

Thing is, Markov never really had a great team to play with in the playoffs, did he?

We know he's not the type of guy who will take a team on his back. But with a defined role on a powerful team (something the habs obviously aren't), he'd be a great addition to a contender, imho.

Talking about Markov shortcomings in the playoffs is as silly as saying Koivu wasn't a great captain because he never won the cup.

hey, if Douglas (frank)ing Murray could fetch 2 second round pick at the deadline last year, I can't see why the Habs couldn't get something very useful for Markov.

Ya the only one that might stand out would have been the ECF year against Philly and he was hurt for that series I think.

(frank)ing Eller...forgot he was with the Habs. Hopefully Galchenyuk being back wakes him up.
