Loktionov to Dallas for Antoine Roussel?
Yeah, yeah, "just what we need, more 4th liners!". Loktionov doesn't look like he has a place here. Been getting benched for Mike Sislo and the likes all year. Roussel is a ball of hate. |

Why would dallas do that? Roussel has a solid role in the NHL, lokti is currently a fringe player. |

I thought earlier in the year when Robidas and Daley went down that it made sense to trade Fayne for Roussel. Loktionov isn't even worth the 5th or whatever it was we traded for him. We have to many skilled players who just can't figure it out on a consistent basis at the NHL level. |

I wouldn't be against trading Fayne. I like him but we need to get rid of a defensman and he has value. |

I like Fayne to. He usually makes a smart pinch. I mean sometimes he gets caught but I think he is the best we have at making that little pinch without getting caught. |

Also he's young and cheap but he's our best option for moving a dman

I think Zid could get a decent return, he has good numbers and teams like to improve their PP going into the playoffs. |

I don't know about that. We already don't have a first so not having a first and a second in this draft would kill us considering how pitiful our forward prospect pool is. I wouldn't mind Hemsky though but it would have to be for for like Salvador, Volchenkov or Burlon something along those lines Maybe Josefson or Loktionov lol - blizzzard
I'm not sure an established crappy player is going to get Hemsky.
I wouldn't mind Hemsky either; sure he's 30 but in Czech years that's like 25.
And the thought of him on a line with Elias and Jagr is pretty exciting.
I still think Larsson will be moved, and he may be what it takes to get Hemsky. |

Larsson could fetch a much greater return the hemsky. Hemsky is nice but the oil have been trying to trade him for three years. Now none of Salvador or volchenkov have much value but hemsky will fetch a third or second at best and Larsson is worth a lot more then that. |

Lou needs to get Marty St Louis.
Put him on a line with Jagr & Elias. With Zidlicky & Salvador on defense.
That's 38-37-42 up front and 37-38 on D.
with 41 yr old Marty in net of course.
Oldest starting 6 in the league? |

The thing with St. Louis is that he is a catch 22. He is worth a ton and is a ppg player at 38 with no signs of slowing down but at the same time common sense tells you he is 38 and you likely shouldn't give up a cray amount for a 38 yro but by all accounts is worth what he was worth at 30. I would love him but I couldn't handle giving up the serious assets it would cost to get him here and have him for at a maximum of maybe 5 years and who knows how good he would be for the last 2. |

So who does Chicago want that we could pry away...realistically.
I know it's hard to be realistic on here, but lets give it a shot. |

It's gotta be more than the Olypmics.
I find it hard to believe that St Louis would be that much of a female dog. |

i dont see him playing 5 more years.
2-3 maybe. He seems like an all-or-none type of guy, which may be why he asked for the trade. It may be more about his future with TB and all their prospects more than it is the Olympics.
I don't think he's gonna be like Brodeur and claw and fight to the bitter end for every second of ice time. Which is how I can see Brodeur going down, his ego suggests it could strongly be a possibility. Hopefully he proves me wrong. |

I only said five because he is 38 and I believe Selanne is 43 so that would be 5 years. Now is St. Louis Teemu Selanne I don't think so but I am sure lots of people wouldn't be surprised if he played till 43 but I think it is more likely he plays 2-4 |

Edmonton, Calgary, New York Islanders, Buffalo and Florida are the only teams to have won less games then us. Now let me ask you this. Does this seem like a team that is a playoff team ? Yes it might only be a few points out of a spot, but when you have only won more games then 5 teams then it looks pretty bleak.... - blizzzard
You have a good point Blizzzard, but I think the Devils are much better than 4 out of the 5 teams (except the Isles). In fact I think the Devils have actually underachieved this year. Remove a few of those late game collapses (Edmonton early in the year comes to mind) and win 3 of those shootout games are we're 2nd in the division. So although those teams are a bit close to us, I do think we are a playoff team.
However that being said, we are not winning the Cup this year so SELL SELL SELL and re-tool for the future! |
