I would be thrilled if we could get a ham sandwich for Marty.

Brodeur's options:

be backup in NJ
be backup somewhere else.

So why leave?

Below average #'s on a super defensive team. I love Broduer, but I wouldn't give up more than a 3rd if I was a playoff team looking to add. Most playoff teams looking to add are those who are in good shape to win.
I honestly think he's more valuable to keep

Where do you think we could draft if they traded two second rounders? Is 15th a stretch?
- shvingter88

yes. The isles gave up two 2nd's in '10 (I think like the 34th and 50ish) for the 30th pick.

Now mind you, that Pick was Brock Nelson, and he is a damn good young player

34 to 30 doesn't sound worth it to me

Sorry to say it boys but I am more excited and have higher hopes for Myles Bell then I do Matteau Kujawinksi could end up being a decent player to if he pulled it together by his stats it doesn't look like he took that next step that scouts felt he needed to take to go in the first round. If he could turn it around he could be an interesting prospect. Matteau isn't horrible but I am going to rag on the kid till he makes an impact with the club because we should of passed up that pick in hindsight

I second that. He's of no value to us. If anything, negative value considering his drama and threat to Corey's security as starter. Any pick is better than no pick.

He SHOULD retire a Devil.....tomorrow!!! That would be the best scenario. The Devils won't get much in a trade....so, they should pull a Clockwork Orange on Marty and force him to watch video of himself over the past couple seasons...then he may realize that the BEST way to help this team would be to step aside...watch the #30 get hoisted to the rafters and move on!

I don't know about that. We already don't have a first so not having a first and a second in this draft would kill us considering how pitiful our forward prospect pool is. I wouldn't mind Hemsky though but it would have to be for for like Salvador, Volchenkov or Burlon something along those lines Maybe Josefson or Loktionov lol

(frank) that. He's 30 and already regressing into a bottom 6 FW. NJ has a million bottom 6 guys.

Can't make an impact if you can't stay on the ice.

Enough of these borderline dumpster dives by Lou.

Get a real deal top-6 or "status quo".

Sell off Jagr, Zidlicky, Salvador, use a compliance buyout on A-train in the offseason.

And if Marty really would rather be a backup on another team instead of the backup in NJ then sell his ass too.

REBUILD!

Edmonton, Calgary, New York Islanders, Buffalo and Florida are the only teams to have won less games then us. Now let me ask you this. Does this seem like a team that is a playoff team ? Yes it might only be a few points out of a spot, but when you have only won more games then 5 teams then it looks pretty bleak....

What's a shootout win? Where can I buy those? Does it come with fries and a soda?
