So what's the fun topic today?

Grossmann sucks?
Tear apart team/future for one player?
Holmgren must go?
Giroux didn't deserve the extension?
Trade all of our vets (ignore NTCs) and throw the season for a better pick?

I vote Luke Schenn is a bust at 24 and should just retire.

Russia is practically just a run of the mill criminal empire at this point.

If you grew up in the late '70's and early '80's, you really thought that the USSR and US would bomb each other back to the stone ages.

The perceived stakes were a little different back then.

Ah... mutually assured destruction.... weren't those the days.

"Shall we play a game?"
"How about a good game of chess?"
"Nah, let's play Thermonuclear War instead."

The 80's were awesome.

Apparently they forgot the following topics:

It's all Rosehill's fault

Why Corsi is more important than life itself

Coburn sucks, trade him right now for Weber!

No, its all Snider's fault

Yup, so many lamebrain topics, so little time!

Naw, Grandmaster Matthew Broderick will somehow stalemate them with a game of tic-tac-toe and the world will be saved.

Lol, reading about Markov getting offered 1-year $6M on TSN, but wanting 3-years, and the top-rated comments are all about "he's cooked, nobody is stupid enough to offer him 3-years"... and all I can think of is:

"We'll do 5!"

Maybe we can acquire Plekanec, Grabovski, and Letandresse, then bring Huet and Kovalev back over, and ice a large portion of the 07/08 Canadiens.

How about this: Why Matt Read will be "the player traded" for a defenseman.

I'm thinking Read and a 2nd for Dailey. I wonder if Bill could give his imput if this would be acceptable for Dallas.

Sometimes I wish we could go back to those days when few people had a computer and internet. Back when kids played outside... built forts, etc. and you had to interact with others for fun, like playing cards, or having dinner parties....

I really feel bad for anyone born after 1990. IMO i think the 80s was the best mix of the old school with the newschool. After the 80s, everything got out of hand.

Thats more than a fair deal, but I don't think the Flyers do that.

I'd be happy to add Daley. He has something our blue-line is sorely missing in abundance: skating ability. Trevor Daley is a phenomenal skater. Unfortunately, he's average at everything else.

Good puck mover, but will turn the puck over more than most Philly fans would be willing to put up with. Can score points, but it will be sporadic. Good defender, but non-existent physically. He's more or less another Coburn.

Not the kind of player I think Homer is willing to trade one of our best all-around forwards for. Matt Read is a swiss army knife kind of forward that every contending team needs. He's signed to a great deal and is in his prime. I don't think moving him for Daley makes this team any better. It's plugging one hole while creating another.

Read + 2nd for Dailey. Trade Grossmann for 2 2nds. Sign either MacDonald, Markov, or Girardi in the offseason.

I think the Coburn and Daley comparison are spot on, but I think its more important to get more of these types of guys, whether the fans like it or not. I think the reason Read gets moves is maybe because Laughton will be able to fill a 3rd line wing spot on a defensive unit next season.

1. You'd be lucky to get 1 2nd for Grossman
2. Daley isn't worth Matt Read and a pick
3. That blue-line is actually worse then the one we have now
4. Cousins is nowhere close to being NHL ready

I think you're waxing nostalgic there... you have the good, but then you have Tom Selleck in short shorts.

I think the exact opposite has a better chance of happening. I think you see Laughton traded for an equally talented young defensive player straight up.

Jake Gardner, Matt Dumba, Brandon Gormley, Connor Murphy, Oscar Klefbom. Someone like that.

I'm going to assume you mean Trevor Daley, I'm pretty sure they could get Bob Dailey back for pretty much nothing since he is 60 years old.
