They played as a team and won Bronze...It's an insult to say they won because the US didn't show up... - Fruitcakenipple
I think its fair to say Finland was motivated to win the Bronze and the US after losing a close emotional game to Canada was in a different mindset |

Exactly - their attitude is the typical Canadian attitude when it comes to hockey medals. We're the last country that should be criticizing them for that. - 1979AD
while i agree, they are not Canadian, not even close. Maybe they should value the bronze as much as the Fins, they are in the same league talent wise. let's take a bath together. |

Guys, I want the Leafs to get Ott.
He's decent on faceoffs, can play wing or C, plays physical, veteran, chips in a goal every 4 games or so, will drop the gloves and make Orrs and McLarens obsolete....
What do you fools think? - Gunslinger
From what I heard, Ott and Gleason won't mix. |

Do we know if Komarov can sign with the Leafs after his KHL season is over? Like a junior player going to the AHL for some seasoning. I figure it would be mutually beneficial if he could as it would give the Leafs some depth and grit for the stretch and playoffs, and give him a chance to tack on an extra ~500K on his next contract. - BetterCallSaul

A restricted free agent who does not sign a new contract by December 1 becomes ineligible to play for the rest of the season. It's essentially a deadline for contract negotiations that drag into the new season. |

serious question. is clarkson on the 2nd line because his play warrants it, or is he on the 2nd line because his contract warrants it?
it seems that most of what i've been reading about clarkson is that he's been pretty poopty (when he's been playing) this year. Or at least, not producing. - sensarmy_11
Contract. Sorry, Clarkson hit 30 goals once. ONCE. And that was with #1 PP unit minutes.
I was initially all over Clarkson because I thought he'd chip in 20 hard fought goals and provide some physicality and dominance as a #2 PP guy parked in JVR's office, but I'm just not seeing it; he seems like he's trying to do much and doing very little in the process besides protecting water bottles and getting suspended.
I'd rather Kulemin playing in our top 6 and contributing on the PK for half the salary. |

Defence won this tournament in my opinion.
The three teams with the best defenseman won.
In order non the less.

I wanted the Leafs to sign him last summer and was happy when it happened..Clarkson has time to turn it around but ya it's certainly not starting out well..Still think it's too early to write him off as he's done well in his previous playoff games and could easily prove his value this spring..

Agreed...The Finns deserved to win that game and they did...Just dont think it's fair to say the US handed it to them..
Not showing up/caring is just an excuse for the US losing the bronze medal game to a better team... |

Finns showed up wanting to win. USA showed up wanting to go home. That was the big difference. It was pretty clear that the US wasn't into that game, almost painfully obvious. |

Sorry, I don't.
I may have been too intoxicated and subsequentially vibrating akin to Alex P. Keaton at the time. |

basically mike millbury said taking fighting out of hockey would be the "pansification" of the NHL when he was on CBC, and then maclean had to have this woman on HNIC to talk about how "pansy" was a homophobic slur and it became this big thing |
