Price was conditionned his entire career to protect one goal leads.

He was destined for these Olympics.

- Scabeh

yes he was, this was his time to step up and shine, and that he did...now he can join Luongo as being perceived as irrelevant in TC's 2 gold medal achievements according to some people...ridiculous to think that any other goalie would have beat the US 1-0....we'd be talking about our bronze medal game results if it wasn't for Price

I agree with Don Cherry, they shouldn't even have a Bronze medal game.

It meant something to the Finns who have that medal streak going. After about 10 minutes into the game, the U.S. Players looked like they would rather be on a plane home. The bronze meant absolutely nothing to them.

- Aetherial

If an Olympic medal means nothing to them....they dont bother sending a team.

No heart from the US team....disgusting.

Scrivens was Reimers backup, why would the leafs expect the same?

Scrivens couldn't beat out LAs 3rd stringer, so he was traded for his value.

Not sure why we couldn't get more IMHO

- Garnie

Cause Reimer is a back up.

Now he is.

So would half the goalies in the league if they traded for Bernier.

Reimer > Scrivens

So in Edmonton for example he would be a starter.

Lou was a backup, they should have traded him for the same as Scrivens?

Edit: I think he would be worth more than Scrivens, if not - keep him.

Scrivens had awesome stats when they (LA) traded him, Reimer wont bring much more.

Price played well no doubt.
But Canada would have had the same result with Smith and/or Lou in the net.

Their system was built and perfected to make the goalie a non factor.

This, I think they traded Scrivens at the right time considering his recent success... and hell didn't he beat an NHL record couple of weeks back? It's something.

Is Reimer than Scrivens? Maybe, hell probably.

Does that make his value that much more that he would bring more than what the Kings received for Scrivens?

I don't think so.

I don't think it's fair to claim any goaltender could have done what he did.

He made some pretty solid saves against the USA and Sweden, hell he was perfect for the two most important games of the tournament.

Smith and Luongo are both very good goaltenders, and maybe Canda would have won with them as well, they did have amazing defense.

But it will remain a maybe, and we know one thing for sure.

They couldn't have been better than Price because well, he was perfect.

Meh, went 7-5 on one of the best teams in the NHL but couldn't crack T.O

If Reims doesn't bring much, no sense trading.

Team Canada 1998 and virtually every semi-final losing Team Canada U20 team since the beginning of time has played the bronze medal hockey game with apathy and this is the typical American attitude?

Technically Luongo was the only perfect goalie on Team Canada in this tournament.

Seriously though, it's not easy for a goalie to stay sharp when his team is playing in the offensive zone so much. Price was fantastic. I do think this team was so good they could have won with nearly any NHL calibre goalie, but that doesn't detract from Price's awesomeness.
