1) For Reimer's value, look at what Scrivens brought the Kings and expect around the same.
2) If Brodeur is moved, it's not to become someone's insurance policy, it's to be THE guy. - Scabeh
I don't see any playoff teams trading for Brodeur to be THE guy though....most teams are already set in goal. I think it would be for a team that needs that stability in net, especially to a team with an unproven goalie in net come playoff time. (Bernier). |

Or another good chance to win the CUP. - bixll
Yeah.
I love Brodeur, he's one of, if not the best goaltender in history.
But I really think that if a team like St-Louis were to acquire him to lead them to a cup, it wouldn't work out as well as they think. |

|
I don't think it was confirmed that he did ask for a trade.... was it? - Scabeh
Don't know if was confirmed or not, but that is what I read this morning. Think other sources just mentioned discussions between NY and Tampa. |

You think that would be a fair swap? |

It's more about what Brodeur wants than what teams would want out of him to be honest.
If he's to remain a 2nd goaltender, it's on a cup contending team for sure. If not, might as well stick with the Devils. |

No.
I don't think they'll be looking to make trades with Toronto. |

I'm beginning to think next year will be his last season. Unless he can stage some remarkable numbers over the last quarter of this campaign. - A_Tree
I hope he gets a ridiculous gift from each team he visits on the road. Like the sandcastle Mariano Rivera couldn't take with him.

I think it has to be St. Louis, if at all this year. |

Why would he bother moving to another team to be the backup? He's already won multiple Cups as a starter. |

He should have called a landscaping company and had it moved to his place in NY. |

the rumoured rangers deal? - Dozzer
Just the fact that he demanded a trade....didn't see that one coming, 1 because he's the team Captain, and 2 because they are 3rd in the east....if it is for Callahan, I wouldn't do that trade if I were Yzerman, Callahan is so overrated....simply because of the C on his sweater. |

Top PK was Bergeron-Benn, second was Toews-Carter, third was Getz-Marleau |

That would be a perfect fit IMO. Maybe they trade Halak or Elliot to Tampa for Picks and prospect? |

Because I don't think he's a starter anymore, and if he wants a chance at a Cup, he will have to take what he can get. Unless he wants to get traded to the Islanders so he can be starter....but I see him wanting in on a playoff team, which are all pretty much set in net. |

If he wasn't on the top 3 PK units, why did I keep seeing him out killing penalties? |

I don't see what he would get out of joining a team 3/4 through the season to sit on the bench with the slight possibility of getting another ring. But I guess people have been known to do strange things. |

Maybe he figures he has more of a chance to step in and play on a team with an inexperienced, young goaltender.... |
