So, you think offering a guy who hasn't been able to crack the lineup of the 3rd worst team in the league (Pts%-wise) but at least can score in the AHL, and a guy who's failed to show up as one of the "leaders" at the past 2 WJC and whose stats have been trending downward since he was drafted are really that great? I'd keep the 22-year-old who's already scored 30 goals in the NHL, is a proven power forward, and is locked up for the next 4 years.
Now, if the Islanders wanted to offer Pulock and a something else, then you may get some interest. But to me, both Strome and Reinhart have really had a drop-off in value over the last 24 months. - jmatchett383
I respectfully disagree......and I feel confident that ANY gm would jump at that trade (if they were the ones giving up kane, and getting the 2 prospects) |

why the heck would Edmonton be discussing Yakupov for a rental Callahan (no matter what other pieces the Rangers add) based on Edmonton's playoff position. Considering Yakupov's trade value is lower than it was the day he was drafted (which means Edmonton should not even consider moving him) I wouldn't move Yaks to the Rangers even if Callahan ended up being a throw in.

Nash giving a 1st for Gaustad was absurd. - Danformo
The Sabres also gave up a 4th rounder, so it was Gaustad + 4th (Sabres) = 1st (Nashville).
(Not that a 4th has that much value, but it was part of the deal)
Now to Ott, he should garner a late 1st (to a contender for cup, so expected to be later first round, 25+).
I would like to see Ott sign in Buffalo, but we are in dump / rebuild season and if you can get a 1st and you contract is up this year, you will be moved. Murray understands what he needs to do, get to the top of the draft, as much as possible, and I think the hold up in most the offers so far is that Murray wants 2015 picks, which no one wants to part with, I am sure (lost their "lottery" at McDavid).
I call Edmonton and ask trading 2 D men for a star forward, or Ehroff for their 1st (starting point, Edmonton GM said he would trade his 1st rounder). Get as many in the top 10 this year (if possible) and next year will be just as bad (point wise) but tons more exciting to watch! |

No way we move a 1st line Center for him. I could Ebele as a possibility, but not straight up. - Jeropotato
As I said they are the main principles of the trade I didn't say a straight up trade, lets say it's Eberle what would you want added to make the trade possible? |

Well then we're just going to disagree. Reinhart's stock (to me) has plummetted since he was chosen (offensive stats declining every year, non-factor as the last 2 WJC not counting his suspension) and Strome is looking more and more like a very over-hyped #5 long-shot. Speaking of which, he'd be playing second fiddle to Mark Scheifele, the guy taken AFTER him. So I don't think they're willing to trade their top-line winger for a second-line center and defenseman with declining stats who's going to have to compete with Enstrom, Buff, Bogosian, and Trouba for a top-4 spot. |

Absolutely. If I'm Edmonton, no way Myers for Eberle straight-up works. That's a start to a trade. I'd be demanding one of Zadorov or Risto as well. |

In your opinion Kane's value has dropped. He's not having a banner year and you're right, he doesn't want to be in Winnipeg but I wouldn't expect winnipeg to move him unless they made a hockey trade. I don't see a 1st rounder in 2016 making that deal bud I'd expect Snow might try to trade all of his picks in 2014, 2015 and 2016 to make a deal..... - Myron1982
well you also expect the jets to trade pavelec for an excellent dman, yet the entire world knows pavelec sucks which is why he was benched in favor of khl goalies in the olympics. as if the jets need any more dmen anyways...they need forward help bad. aren't you supposed to be a jets fan, why do i know the team more than you do? jeez... |

sabres are the only fans that think they will get a top return for ehrhoff. no one wants that salary, it's clear he was overpaid since he is now nothing compared to the dmen he was when he has good players on his team. edm's 1st for ehrhoff? give me a break, what are you adding to make edmonton take on that contract? this isn't nhl 14 kids, this is why they have lawyers, cap wizard geeks etc running the show, not guys that think "hey we have an overpriced dman and need to rebuild, lets trade our old geezer for a top 5 pick"

Strome is in the AHL because they want him in the AHL. Reinhart is in the typical 20 year old funk because he's bored- 20-year-olds should be playing in the minors or in the NHL, not junior. I wouldn't trade either of them for Kane, let alone both- realistically, Strome and some second tier prospect/middling NHL forward straight up is probably fair enough for Kane. However, TRULY realistically.....Kane isn't what we need. If I'm trading blue chip assets, I'm getting a goalie who's going to be standing in between the pipes in Brooklyn for a LONG time. Forward isn't our problem. |
