If somehow Ottawa can trade Neil + for Cally that would be awesome. I don't think the + would be a first though. We don't have one this summer (traded to Anaheim) and we won't be dealing next summers.

I'd say something like Neil + Pumpel for Callahan.

Ottawa isn't trading Ryan and certainly not for Callahan. Ottawa is really high on Ryan and the only player Ottawa would trade him for on the NYR is McDonagh and I don't think that's happening!

What about Kadri, Gardiner, Kulemin for Calahan and Girardi?

Don't shoot me for a suggestion. I just think it evens out where Toronto gets some strong vets and nyr gets younger and it's not like either Kadri or Gardiner will ask for crazy money. Just an idea folks!

No. Calahan dose not make to much sense in TOR. I would keep Kadri any day over Calahan. Gardiner could be so good so trading him for a UFA is not to smart...I'll trade for Girardi so he can play with Gardiner and help him develop into being a top D...And Kulemin...I believe he would be good for the Rangers but in a different package.

Boomer played for the Jets. Doesn't that make him an Islanders fan?

I think Pete may be right in his guess of Marchand. Boomer said this morning on Twitter that a few people overnight had the player involved. If you go through his @ mentions, there are several people that mention Marchand. And in all of them, Boomer doesn't reply back to them, where as when some other players are mentioned he specifically says no. Plus all his other clues really make sense when applying it to Marchand.

How about Cally for Marchand?!

I one of his other replies to someone, Boomer says he could definitely see Cally signing with Buffalo as a UFA.

I don't think Marchand or Bruins make sense. Marchand is signed for a couple of more years and is a similar player for a rental....

Has anyone thought of Semin? A sniper with 1 year left and instantly goes on top line.

Wayne Simmonds? If Holmgren is dumb enough to trade this kid.....it better be for an elite puck moving d man.....then he should be fired.

Why would Boston trade Marchand? That would really surprise me as I view him to be much much better than Cally, in a 1:1 trade scenario. I don't get it ... So maybe as it would truly be surprising.

Not in a million years. I wouldn't even do Callahan for Marchand, Marchand is too valuable an asset to sell off for a pending UFA.

Callahan in Boston. That means we are matching up with them in the ECF. Callahan game winner in game 7. It's a lock.

I just don't see Callahan bringing back that big if a return. It's more likely it's Girardi for Marchand given the Bruins lost Seidenberg.

Lots of chatter I am getting that it's Martin St. Louis, which makes sense. Tampa gets the leadership they want and a gritty forward while the Rangers gets a short term bump up in offense. St. Louis is signed for this year and next at $5.625, which helps the Rangers cap. The chatter I have heard, from a source with some decent info and another one, is that the conditional pick that Boomer mentioned kicks in if Callahan re-signs in Tampa.

Chiarelli already came out and said he is only looking for depth pieces and staying away from bidding wars. It seems very unlikely that the Bruins would trade one of their top 6 players in a year where they are heavy favorites to return to the cup. If the Bruins do get Girardi it will be for picks and prospects.
