Meh, he was bad at the beginning of the year, so your skepticism was somewhat warranted.

Just shows the ups and downs a 20 year old prospect can go through within a single season.

If he'd been getting as many shots a game and converting even close to what he is now, he'd be having a great rookie season.

As it stands, he could very well still hit 20+ goals this season, after going pointless for like 26 games to start the year.

I'm betting that Gillis has his scouts keep attention to possession/advanced stats when scouting the CHL so it's no surprise to hear that he's been shooting plenty . I should have known a bit better though, the one thing I remember reading from his scouting report is that he's a very streaky player. He'll go cold for 10+ games then look amazing for 10+ after. I think that's just the way he is.
