I wish Garth was this upset when the team was tanking in November.
- ses111

Exactly. I wish he'd get this fired up over all the losing. Pointless steaks of 5, 10 games doesn't seem to bother Snow, but losing JT to injury at the Olympics for the last 20 games of a lost season infuriates him. Go figure.

This should get every Isles fan boiling. Are fans suppose to rally around Garth for this?

Hey, now that he's awake, maybe he can do something about the craptastic team he's assembled before going back into hibernation.

He should have thought about that before trading away Regin!

The four centers the rest of the way should be Strome, Nelson, Franz (when he comes back) and Cizikas...I would put Bailey as the #3 center for now....

#Isles GM Garth Snow spitting mad over Tavares' Olympic injury: "Are the IIHF or IOC going to reimburse our season ticket holders now?"

More Snow: "It's a joke. They want all the benefits from NHL players in Olympics and don't want to pay when our best player gets hurt."

Snow: "It wouldn't matter if we were 10 points up on a playoff spot or 10 points out. We lost our best player and he wasn't playing for us."

- NYI44

i agree with all of what he's saying, id be mad too but its still garth snow, he shoulda been gone along time ago.

Must have been something to watch Charles and Garth write up Garth's angry quotes.

Calgary, Edmonton, and Florida will all pass the Isles in the standing.

It may come down to the last game of the year against Buffalo to decide the last spot in the standings.

Do you think Garth is still in charge come Draft Day???

As long as Wanger owns the team Snow will have a job. Also no shot of catching the sabres

If I was Snow I would seriously consider the rumored LA Kings deal for Vanek and AMAC. I read it was Toffoli, Muzzin and a 2nd rd pick for the two of them.

Calgary and Florida may have passed the Isles anyway. They are both 1 point back with 2 games in hand. Edmonton is now a possibility. I think the Isles will go 6-14-2 for the rest of the season (or something close to that).

Snow will be there. They had an excuse gift wrapped for them.

If there is any justice he will be re-assigned like Milbury was. No way I'm counting on it though. He probably gets one more year and if they miss the playoffs again there will be a new GM the first year in Brooklyn.

This year has been a complete Fail for Snow... he had the chance to make the right moves in the offseason and blew it.

I still have no problem with the Vanek trade... had to try it.

It just seems like we trade Vanek and Amac... and we might be a worst team next year if Garth is still in charge.

Wang should reimburse the entire fanbase of anything related to the Islanders.

The same as the rest of you. Agree with his comments but also feel his anger is perhaps a bit misdirected, especially considering it's likely been building from 'other issues'.

One point to consider. There have probably been tons of times Garth would have liked to tee off like this but the NHL fines you for saying pretty much anything. In this case, the IOC has no jurisdiction and he can be a lot more frank.

I do like watching the best players in the world play from their home countries is the Olympics, but from an NHL GM perspective, I understand why they want to keep their star players from entering a tournament that has no value to the team that they are running. Islanders just lost all hope of any playoff spot, although it was a long shot to begin with, it's not the point. I'm not an Islanders fan what so ever, but I feel for them right now. At least this might help them get a top 3 player in the draft to help going into next season when Tavares is back.

Well, we'll certainly be worse if we don't trade them. Snow MUST find a way to get back some actual players or prospects as opposed to draft picks.
