its sad that Cappy finally gets fired b/c people turning hard to Snow now.

What Snow does with Vanek and AMac will really make him or break him
I still think we should trade Viz too. I feel like that guy just going to flee next team
I know questione believe Viznosky Milked his Concussion way longer than what was needed and thought, Hmm i can come back right before olympics and play. Im glad they told him no.

Weight should get the team for rest of season and see if he can be a permenant coach. B/c we all know we wont get Laviolette (which we should)

It's not sad at all it's deserved. If he worked for any toher team he would've been fired long ago probably never hired in the first place.

But, the comment section on that one, won't be nearly as ... entertaining.

If you're into that sort of adolescent, low class kind of entertainment.

True, but if youa re the islanders organization, would you protect this year's pick and give up next year's instead?

How bad do you look if you give up a lottery pick in the McDavid draft?

Trust me, as a Leafs fan I know all about giving up those kind of picks.

If it's top 4 I'd think we keep it? I have no idea what Snow's plans are for the offseason I'd think that would help with his decision process.

If you are drafting in the Top 5 (or even higher), you have to keep it. If they are in a position to take Aaron Ekblad for instance, they need to make the pick. The Islanders are talented. They took a step back, but they'll be better next year, and I doubt that they will be bad enough to draft McDavid. But, if that happens, it would obviously be a total disaster.

Agreed for the most part. Snow needs to have a big offseason which I have zero faith in and that's where the problem is. That will decide what kind of season next year is.

I think it will be top 3 without question, but if its not top 2... id pass it on to Buffalo.

Yep, probably right with the loss of JT unless Strome emerges as the second coming of Jeff Tambellini. I know there's a cut off date when they have to decide whether they'll keep it or not I'm guessing that is before the lottery? It'd suck to have a shot at Reinhardt or Ekblad and trade it to the Sabres.

Yeah, that seems to be the way of thinking with this draft. We may end up there

Trade Vanak, Amac, Nabby, see what is offered for Vis.

Fire Cappy.. make JT the interem coach while he's out with the injury.

It has to be after the lottery. They have to know where they are picking before the decide what to do with the pick

Tough call. If they somehow manage to swing a couple of firsts for Vanek and AMac, I can see them surrendering this year's first. On the other hand, having two more firsts in addition to their own this year might allow them to move up from what will already be a very high pick and grab either Reinhart or Ekblad (think I'd take the forward this time).

I'm also not sure the strategy should be banking on a high enough pick to have favorable odds in next year's lottery. I mean, I understand the reality and why that would make a lot of sense, but if that's a major consideration, then what is even the point of competing in this league? I think Edmonton has shown that it doesn't matter how many first overalls and how much elite young talent you have if you can't pull it all together and make an effective team out of it.
