But, the comment section on that one, won't be nearly as ... entertaining.

its sad that Cappy finally gets fired b/c people turning hard to Snow now.

What Snow does with Vanek and AMac will really make him or break him
I still think we should trade Viz too. I feel like that guy just going to flee next team
I know questione believe Viznosky Milked his Concussion way longer than what was needed and thought, Hmm i can come back right before olympics and play. Im glad they told him no.

Weight should get the team for rest of season and see if he can be a permenant coach. B/c we all know we wont get Laviolette (which we should)

I am assuming that Vanek can't touch the ice as Islander again, right? Would be crazy to play him at this point.

Um... Oh wait... You're a Sabres fan and you don't know the pick is top ten protected and can be either this years or next?
- Cptmjl

True, but if youa re the islanders organization, would you protect this year's pick and give up next year's instead?

How bad do you look if you give up a lottery pick in the McDavid draft?

Trust me, as a Leafs fan I know all about giving up those kind of picks.

If you are drafting in the Top 5 (or even higher), you have to keep it. If they are in a position to take Aaron Ekblad for instance, they need to make the pick. The Islanders are talented. They took a step back, but they'll be better next year, and I doubt that they will be bad enough to draft McDavid. But, if that happens, it would obviously be a total disaster.

McDavid is in Next year draft, not this year.

I think the author was just taking a shot at the Isles. I wouldn't be surprised if Vanek wants to get moved before the deadline, especially with JT out. To say he's desperate is a bit much.
- JimmyP

THIS ^

Vanek was having a fine season points wise with JT and I think would have been willing to stick the season out here if it ment inflating his points for his big UFA payoff. Instead he faces another few weeks of playing with ummmm....errrr....yeah. I imagine the sooner he can go to a high scoring team the better

I took it as he knows that and that's why he was asking if they should just give up this years pick so they don't have to worry about that scenario playing out

Wang has some work to do, then he can tell Snow what the game plan is...JT out is bad for hockey, not just the isles.

Off season should be interesting.

Lines at practice
VANEK-Nelson-Okposo
Grabner-Bailey-Clutterbuk
Boulton-Cizikas-McDonald

So once we get Strome and Lee, all bets are off I guess but I'm almost willing to bet that top line remains as is. I wonder if Bailey will stick at center or if Strome will assume that role with Bailey sliding over to wing.

I believe what I previously said that the Islanders will be better next year, and therefore, should make the pick ifs a Top 5 pick, rather than allowing the disaster scenario of missing out on McDavid next year to enter their thinking. But, with this new lotter system, all teams that miss the playoffs, theoretically have a chance to win the top pick (however, small). So, if the Islanders make the pick this year, and miss the playoffs next, there will be some anxious ping pong ball moments with that lottery next summer.

Team 1 25.0%
Team 2 18.8%
Team 3 14.2%
Team 4 10.7%
Team 5 8.1%
Team 6 6.2%
Team 7 4.7%
Team 8 3.6%
Team 9 2.7%
Team 10 2.1%
Team 11 1.5%
Team 12 1.1%
Team 13 0.8%
Team 14 0.5%

This off season is probably more important. Snow needs to address the weaknesses on this team without using the waiver wire. I'm skeptical it will happen. We say the same thing every year and nothing changes.

I don't think Snow's job is in jeopardy. I think he's safe for at least two more years. I think there will more pressure to put a winning team on the ice when they get to Brooklyn.

Agreed, Wang will not pay anyone, not to work for him. And, as long as Snow continues to agree with him, why change.

When Vanek decided to take his right and test the FA market, I just want him shipped out quickly only bc he has a history of being injured and don't want to be stuck w/him and not receive any type of return..

Don't care about his comments or any others trying to write up a story and adding blurbs to the story. We just need this damn team to become professional again...

Even tho it seems far fetched...

What history of being injured??

Staple thinks Cappy is gone after this season unless they make the playoffs which means he is gone.

I agree but I'd expect them to do the completely wrong thing.
