I think the author was just taking a shot at the Isles. I wouldn't be surprised if Vanek wants to get moved before the deadline, especially with JT out. To say he's desperate is a bit much.

The article doesn't quote Vanek as saying that at all...just a throw in by the author in a one-paragraph quick hit: Thomas Vanek is downplaying his Sochi partying scandal ahead of next week’s trade deadline. Makes sense, considering how desperately he wants off Long Island, but that bit of selfish behavior could impact the return that GM Garth Snow gets on his prize chip.

I don't doubt that he's eager to see where he ends up, but while he's honest in his interviews, he's also a professional. He wouldn't say anything like that while still here.

Meh. I agree with you. You'd hope they'd take it a little more seriously than that, but I can't bring myself to care.

When Vanek decided to take his right and test the FA market, I just want him shipped out quickly only bc he has a history of being injured and don't want to be stuck w/him and not receive any type of return..

I really think Cappy will take the fall for this year. I cannot see Garth and Cappy both coming back. Garth I think gets one more year and if they miss the playoffs again he is out.
