I understand your point about Stephan, but honestly Parise could have been the emergency back-up C if Kesler or any other C got injured. Paccioretty deserved the spot, I don't think Wheeler did and would have preferred Ryan instead.

If Stephan would have played, it would have been 4th line mins, so really anyone could have taken that position, even if a player never played C before.

so you want to force a player to play a position he's never played before against literally the best players in the world at the highest level of hockey?

Please read.. like I stated, the 4th line barely played any minutes and Stastny was the 4th line C on team, worse case scenario Parise could have played C which he has in his NHL career. Last I checked Parise is better than Stephan, correct???

last i checked parise plays his best on the wing? why would we switch one of our top forwards to an uncomfortable position? and then limit his icetime to 4th line minutes?

You really have a comprehension problem.... I'll say it again slowly

I N C A S E O F A N E M E R G E N C Y, P A R I S E C A N P L A Y C

well it didn't happen, so there's no need to discuss this further, plus the point was made of should of made it instead of Stephan/Wheeler and to some Paccioretty.

You are correct that Parise is better off at W, but I do remember Parise playing 1st line C w/Devils and had a good year until they shifted him to W later on.

EDIT: Also I wouldn't put Parise on 4th line mins either, your assuming to much

Theres no use this is a guy who thinks Hagelin is one of the best players in the league. He said outside of JT and Nielson we have no one. I have to disagree, Nelson Cizikas Martin Strome Grabs KO and Cal are all solid NHLer and Strome ane Nelson have potential to be all stars. KO already is.

I know his MO, and I only interact when I feel necessary but he lacks knowledge of his own team, let alone trying to discuss Isles.

I know more about his team then he does, and I hate the Rags.... that's sad

JT will never be the same. look at rose, look at RG3. once you get this injury once, you're suspect to getting it much easier in the future. when he returns, it's going to take him a full season to get confidence back in his knee and even then he will be 1 collision away from being placed in a wheelchair.

i wish tavares well but suck it islanders! the one player that IS your team is now damaged goods and while it sucks thats such a talented player is hurt i love seeing your franchise get even sadder.

- rangerdanger94

I don't know if this is past your level of intelligence, but rose and RG3 aren't hockey players

by doing nothing...as usual.

Can't believe Garth singing the $$$ blues. Not his money. But his ignorance as a GM will be exposed once again. An utter collapse of the season might really be the best thing that could happen, IF Charles cleans house of GM & Coaches and we get McDavid.

Well if we keep Cappy and use the kids rookie bonus against cap next year, I think Isles have a great shot at McDavid next year....

your roster is untalented. it's simply fact. outside of tavares and okposo and nielsen, it's absolute trash. you have NO winners on that team. NO leaders. you guys actually post that with a new coach, bailey would become a consistent top 6 forward out of nowhere and that you guys not only would be in the playoffs but challenging Pitt for the division! LOL!!!

every veteran you guys get via trade or waivers can't wait to get the fck out!

- rangerdanger94

And how is your roster more talented? We are all waiting? Just how is there more talent on your team when you have the balls to call Nash an elite talent? We are all anxiously awaiting for your response so don't disappoint.

You forgot Zucc, Kreider and the solid D and no one said Stepan is the second coming, more putting words in our mouth unless you can find that file on your computer
- cranford93

Putting words in your mouth? Myself and every single person was here when you yourself was comparing him to Tavares you clown. Save your bs for a more stupid crowd. Might as well find another site due to your own "friends" calling you out. You're a clown, that's all you are. We all remember what you said. Moron

maybe your roster is just untalented and terrible? blaming the coach is always the easy excuse....you guys look pathetic. WAAAH ITS ALL CAPPYS FAULT WAAAH IF WE HAD A BETTER COACH GRABNER WOULD SCORE ON EVERY BREAKAWAY WAAAAH IF WE HAD A BETTER COACH HAMONIC WOULDNT SUCK WAAAAH.

your roster is full of castaways and busts. jacques lemaire couldn't get your defense on track let alone your terrible forwards outside of JT (who will never be the same anymore after the injury), KO (who will fall back to earth without JT and vanek), and Nielsen.

- rangerdanger94

Still upset team USA wasn't the powerhouse you thought clown. You thought they might as well be called the rangers didn't you? How'd that work out? Bring your moronic passive aggressive bs back where it belongs. Who was right.? That's right biotch .

Ken Dryden was...
Ron Hextall
Eddie Johnston (he built the Lemieux Stantley Cup teams)
Why I'm I even doing this...plenty of goaltenders have been GM's.

- keaner17

Ken Dryden was never a General Manager.

Ron Hextall was never a General Manager in the National Hockey League. He was an assistant.

You were right on Eddie Johnston.

One out of three. Keep trying!!!

These people still don't understand what absolute sh*t their team would be without that goalie. They have no idea. This is why I don't take anything they say about hockey seriously. Give them any other goalie in the league, save the handful you've seen perform in Sochi, and they'd be lucky to be a .500 hockey club- they'd be lucky to be as good as us. Just no clue, at all. None...

Theyve got a good goalie and Macdonagh is incredible. Its amazing what two players can do for a team. I feel Macdonagh is quickly turning into one of the better defenseman in the league. A player like that would do wonders for our team.

Canada wins again....so now that we've proven five times in a row that the Canadian all star team is probably always going to be better than all of the others, can we go back to making this a junior tournament? As a hockey fan, I'd rather see draft prospects play and learn some things about them than watch something that I already know is going to happen.

Yeah, he would- I'd take pretty much any good defenseman, and I hope Reinhart will be all he's advertised to be- but Poulin would still have us in last place. Lundqvist, on the other hand, gives them 30 solid points they probably wouldn't have every year....that is the concept that escapes them, and causes them to live in fantasy land about their "great" team. Just no clue, at all.

Saw Tavares hug Crosby down on the ice after they won.. almost puked.
But Tavares was on the ice under his own power, which is really good news.

Also, in Staples lastest article he hinted at PK Subban as a possible RFA that a team cant hold onto that the Isles may be interested in. The last time Staples hinted at a trade target was... yes Vanek.
Not getting my hopes up, but that is certainly interesting.

he's a good shutdown defender but theres about 10-12 dmen I would take ahead of him still. Ranger fans are acting like he's Norris worthy already.
Still, would love him

Here are four in his way, right off the top of my head...Keith-Weber-Doughty-Pietrangelo. Give us those four instead of Carkner-Strait-Hickey-MacDonald, and we compete for the trophy, even with the rest of the players we already have....and those are just the DEFENSEMEN. Those aren't the 10 all-star forwards WITHOUT Stamkos and Tavares, and the two solid goalies. That team would really have had to sh*t the bed hard to not win this tournament- they'd probably have had to forget to come home from the bar, and then got lost on the way to the rink in the morning.
