I don't know...I see a lot of the same mistakes being made over and over. I'm not seeing improvement here. I think the later-round drafting has been decent...but that was just as true in 2008 as in 2011. But there are the same glaring holes in the same positions year in and year out, with the same baffling pointless offseason signings...really, other than a couple of sunny months here or there, each year's essentially been a template for the following one. What are you seeing that I'm not?

There would be no way to legitimately compare without offering the same circumstances over again.
As I've said, it's difficult to say where his shortcomings as a GM end and where the franchises restraints begin. Some will say the Isles don't bring anyone in because Wang is a joke, the stadium sucks, taxes too high , etc
Others say it's because Garth can't close the deal.

What we know is that no big UFA's come here which makes it damn hard to maintain a good team let alone improve.

Again, I think Garth should get the boot. It's a results oriented business and the results (whether totally his fault or not) aren't there. But I do think he's probably better off now through experience than he was on day one.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to chime in on that.

Of course two pages from now this will mean I've called Cappy a Rhode Scholar.

That's optimistic. I was thinking it would take about 5 more posts.

Its too bad that he has gained this experience bcs if he ever gets fired he wont be the GM of another NHL team. Hopefully X and I will be making a wager on that some time soon.

Stewart,Gordon,Sterling never got another head coaching job in the NHL after being fired by the Isles. Cappy will be the next one on that list. The trend continues

He'll get a head scouting position and you and X will be arguing over what the terms of the bet were.

I like some of the black and white rules in international versus subjective NHL rules. It's not about the ref's "intent to blow the whistle," but rather simply, "does the whistle blow before the puck is over the line."

As expected, the most informative part of the video was the great deal you can find on tables and chairs in the Bob's Discount Furniture ad that plays beforehand.

Battle level is everything. Who cares if Jack wants 5 guys attacking in the Ozone at all times or he does not know how to call a timeout.

And when every one of those guys got fired all of the homers were like, "you'll see sone lucky tean will pick them up" . Its a joke get some real hockey people in here for facks sake. Enough of this BS already. If Capuano is here next season I will seriously consider tuning this team out till there is a change in management. I can't stomach this garbage for much longer.

Don't want to rain on your parade, but not much will change next year only bc this team can not attract any talent!!!!
So either Isles have Cappy here next year or Weight, which in all honestly has sucked as well. I'm tired of some homers saying that at least Weight shows some anger or life behind the bench, doesn't mean crap bc the PP has sucked and will continue to suck...

Let's see how good your boy Okposo is now. He currently has 24 goals, 35 assists through 60 games (he's played 59).

He will finish with no more than 10 points in the remaining games. And that's being generous!

So after Vanek is traded he will have lost both partners off the top line and Nielsen is out as well taking away 3 out of the top 4 point leaders on the team. Of course his production is gonna take a hit you facking idiot. Do you ever think before you post? Its embarrassing
